33 weeks measuring 38 on scan

I attended for monitoring today due to decreased movements, all is fine but not feeling much due to anterior placenta. But they scanned me to be sure and the head and abdominal circumference both measured at 38-39 weeks. Estimated fetal growth is 6lb3oz. The sonographer got a 2d opinion which came up with exactly the same measurements. My fundal height has always been 50th centile so this has come as a shock. I have a GTT Monday and another scan in 3 weeks. Anyone had experience of this? Did they induce you early?

Are you at risk of gestational diabetes? If so and the growth is above average then yes often advise to induce at 37wks.

No risk factors for GD which is why I've not been tested so far. If it's just a big baby do they induce early?

My sil tends to have big babies and after a nasty tear when delivering her first they recommend a C section at 38 weeks for her second. He was 8lb13 at 38 weeks. No reason for this, no GD. Just big babies.
