Contacting midwife too much

I don't know if it's because I'm a health professional myself but I feel like I contact my midwife too much, obviously I'm not contacting her for no reason, it's because I'm worried or unsure over something (this is my first pregnancy currently 35 weeks) after I've contacted her or been sent to the daycase unit I feel guilty that I've waste their time. I've been in the unit 4 times already in the past 12 weeks for various things such as reduced movement and hip pain etc. Anyone else felt like this? The thought of bothering them again makes me want to not contact them when I am worried now. And it's not because my midwife isn't nice or anything, she's super lovely and I think that makes the guilt worse Confused

I think the advice is always, if your worried, get in touch.
They much prefer to check you over and all be well than not check and something is wrong. Don't worry about 'annoying' them. Do what you feel is right!

Definitely don't feel bad, they would rather hear from you if you have worries. It's totally normal to feel scared and need reassurance. If you feel bad mention it to her? I'm sure she will put your mind at rest immediately and tell you to stop feeling so guilt :) only you know if you're being silly or not and if you know you're not then contact them as much as you need to, that's what they are there for :) xx

You are being silly. Reduced movement or concerns for your baby is absolutely a 'must contact' situation, even if you were in the unit five days in a row. Other stuff like the hip pain is up to you to decide if you can live with but in my opinion you would be foolish to suffer without medical attention just because you feel embarrassed.

Omg I was there weekly! Don't worry about it. This is your baby - don't ever feel guilty for worrying about its health xx

It's better to be cautious than be like me. I ended up really ill with HELLP syndrome because I thought the pains I was having were just part of pregnancy

I went in 5 times with reduced movements.... at the time I felt guilty and like the midwives were going to be sick of me but now my baby is here i don't regret it at all!
When I went into labour my baby's heartbeat was recovering quickly enough in between contractions so I had to have an emergency c section. I'm glad I went in for those reduced movements as she may have been pressing on the cord or anything.
Always better to be safe than sorry! I bet 99% of reduced movements is completely normal but it's definitely worth getting checked.
Also I suffered with piriformis issues/hip pain and in the end I really had to nag them because I was in so much pain but again now my baby is here I don't regret it.

Don't worry, it's their job and they're totally used to it! I was on the phone all the time in first pregnancy. It's normal and I really never got the impression they minded - they always emphasised it was better to check if I had any concerns. Also if you're feeling anxious that's no good for you or the baby, so best to check for your peace of mind.

I work for the NHS - both myself and my DH. If you have concerns ring - don't worrry about what people think. We didn't want to be 'those' people in our last pregnancy and didn't make a fuss as we didn't want to be labelled as trouble makers. Unfortunately that meant when I went into labour we were dismissed and walked over - should have been more pushy as consequentially I ended up with the birth not going the way we had in mind and not having any options apart from everything happened in a very hap-hazard, uncontrolled and dangerous way.
