Pregnancy

Fairly certain I'm having a miscarriage, am I safe to use paracetamol?

Started bleeding Friday teatime and am still bleeding today. Have also started cramping. On the 1% basis that this is not a miscarriage, am I safe to use paracetamol? I'm just 6 weeks 'pregnant'.

Thanks

You can use paracetamol Tinker. Sorry to hear you are bleeding - everything could be OK though. Bleeding at this stage is not uncommon.

V sorry to read this. Everything could be ok though. I bled around this stage in pregnancy (before I even knew I was pregnant). Had done a test before bleeding which was pretty inconclusive, so I just thought I was having a dodgy period as I only bled for three days. I'd have been very worried though if I'd known I was pg. I do hope this isn't bad news for you though. Thinking of you.

Thanks, you're all so kind. Didn't mean to have such an attention-seeking title, just wanted a quick answer.

Tinker - bleeding can occur early in pregnancy and you can on full term. But the cramping, dont sound good, I had a M/C in Feb and I had cramps, or period like pains, I was 7 weeks.

Sorry to hear that you are bleeding, I hope all will be ok

Oh babe. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Bled a bit at about this stage with the boys and all was ok. I do remember being absolutely frantic with worry for the next two months though so I can guess a bit of what you might be feeling.

Will keep all fingers crossed for you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Tinker - I had what felt like a very light 3 day period, complete with cramping, before I knew I was pregnant and everything was fine - so could be implantation bleeding or a threatened miscarriage. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Is there a local Early Pregnancy Unit that could examine you and maybe even do an internal scan tomorrow?

hi tinker. so sorry to read this. yes, you are absolutely fine to use paracetamol. i recommend that you go to an early pregnancy assessment unit just to be certain what is happening. 6 wks is sufficiently developed for them to be able to do a scan. fingers crossed.

I am sorry to hear this tinker. It's not conclusive yet. Although I know you are fairly certain. I and many others that I know of have had bleeding even heavy bleeding in early pgcy and still been ok. Just wanted to say that, as you just never know until you can get an ultrasound. Hope you manage to see an EPU or go to A and E and they'll get you a scan. Hugs {{{{}}}}

So sorry Tinker. Pls get yourself checked out tomorrow, it may all be ok. I am 17 wks and still bleeding on and off but 8 scans have shown nothing to be wrong and the baby doing fine. I really hope this is a false alarm. Paracetamol will be fine.

Sorry to hear your news Tinker. As everyone has already said you are absolutely fine to have paracetamol at any time during your pregnancy. I didn't bleed like some of the others did during early pregnancy but really early on I did have period pains from hell and everything worked out ok. You really need to get checked out at and EPU. Fingers crossed for you.
