Scan anxiety

Hi, I've got my 12 week scan on weds. I keep swinging between feeling excited and terrified. Is this normal? Im worried that there won't be a baby there or the baby won't have a heart beat. I've not had any bleeding and I'm getting growing pains and boob ache. I've spoken to my midwife who said "just plan for the best" but I can't stop the anxiety creeping in. As it gets closer I'm getting more afraid.

Please help!

I've got my 12 week scan on Thursday. I had an early dating scan 6 weeks ago where we saw the heartbeat and obviously that there was a baby there but it's development was at least a week behind where I expected it to be so I'm hoping that everything is OK.

I think it's completely understandable. I'm 19+5 and still feel like that. I feel like it every time I am waiting for an appointment or scan... I've got my anomaly scan 2weeks tmw and I'm already letting my mind run away. I know it's not helpful, but just try to keep positive and enjoy the journey.

Good luck today!
Mine is tomorrow now and I'm getting really nervous about it. Luckily mine is at 9.30 so at least once I get up it's not long to wait.

I think its normal!!
I was told I couldnt have kids so I was in complete shock when they said I was pregnant! I went for an early scan and then the one at 12 weeks...The day before my 12 week scan I cried and cried in secret before I left my house for the scan, I told my boyfriend how terrified I was that there was no heartbeat...There was one and I felt so relieved...
So when it came to the 20 week scan I was EXACTLY the same, and its almost like you lie down and wait for the first words of "theres a heartbeat" ...I guess its normal to worry because you cant look inside your tummy and check everything is okay so you just rely on these scans and apppointments etc..

Good luck xx

Extremely normal to feel that way as I still feel the same way at wk 16. I had a MC earlier this year and it's tough. I went to a yoga class yesterday and the yoga teacher said - there is absolutely nothing you can do but to allow your body to grow together with baby. Enjoy the journey and good luck x.
