We got a new house but it all needs decorated before we can move in. My partner is doing the larger high bits after work and I'm sitting painting banisters so I'm not doing anything hard. But still it's so tiring!! How can I make this easier on myself without hiring someone and spending a fortune

Me at 34 weeks. I did everything. I can't remember feeling too strained by it although I did do it during a holiday so didn't have to start after a full days work. Prioritise the rooms that absolutely have to be done and take your time with the rest x

I didn't decorate but I spent every night after work sat on the floor stripping a reclaimed parquet floor while pregnant then laid it with a newborn. Then decorated the kitchen and bathroom with a newborn while DH was at work. No idea how this time I'm 30 weeks and exhausted!

We moved when i was about 32, im 37 weeks now and still working on it!

I finished work very early on however so i've enjoyed the process as it has kept me occupied!

Just take your time! Try not to stress over working to any deadlines!

We moved into our house in March which has had to be stripped back to bare brick and floor joists in every single room. I got pregnant two weeks after we moved in so I have spent the entire pregnancy living in a building site! We have 2 months left and still loads to do because we are doing it all ourselves. Very tiring but motivated to get it done before bambino arrives.

I have. I found out I was pregnant midway through decorating our bedroom, then moved on to the lounge at about 20wks pregnant and have just completed the nursery at 35wks pregnant.

I found it all quite difficult to be honest and frustrating - due to PGP it took me a lot longer than it normally would have, plus I work full time too so I was knackered and everything had to be done after work and on weekends.

What was a lifesaver was roping family and friends in to help, and taking breaks whenever I felt I needed them, rather than trying to power through. I did at times feel like I wish I hadn't started but when I look at how great everything looks now I know it was definitely worth while. Good luck with your decorating :)

We're currently on the last two rooms of a year long renovation. I'm 21 weeks pregnant. Mainly my husband and dad have done the work, but I've done the painting. It's tiring!

I went a bit crazy during my second pregnancy and decided to redecorate the stairway and entire upstairs of our house. Walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, windowsills, the lot. I stripped paint, sanded and painted non-stop in my third trimester.

No idea how as I had pgp, was working part time and DD was 18 months old! I think it was extreme-nesting.

It looks lovely though! Grin

Been in our house, without a kitchen, for 5 months. Haven't done anything else to the house (literally bare walls and floorboards) because there's just no point yet.
I'm 4 months along with our first child, preparing for Christmas working in retail management and frankly have just resigned myself to the fact that bump just needs to be warm, clean, fed and loved.

As soon as we announced we were expecting we had plenty of offers of help from friends and family - work those connections hon!
