I'm seriously going to cry, I've thrown up absolutely everything I've ate or drank today, which is bad enough on its own, but I am now staaaarrrrrrrving

I'm seriously hungry and want all the food but as soon as something touches my tongue today boom! Off to stick my head in the bog I go!

I'm mightily pissed off Angry

You have my sympathies! It's bloody awful isn't it. How far are you?

I'm going to spout the stuff you've already been told. Try and get plenty of rest, I always felt a bit better if I was rested and I found having a nibble of something before I actually got out bed worked sometimes (I keep a pack of biscuits on my bedside table).

Keep on trying to eat, don't worry about the nutritional value! If you find something that works stock up and don't worry if you go days just eating the same thing! I managed to keep salt and vinegar square crisps and choc chip digestives down in this pregnancy, apples and peanut butter for my last one. . .

Liquid is more important really when you're this bad. I couldn't stomach water at my worst, but milk was usually ok. I use/d the nesquick powders to vary it a little and get a bit of extra sugar into my system.

Don't suffer if it's lasting more than a day or two at a time, get thee to the doctors. There are lots of medicines you can try/push for even if the first few don't work (in my case, I was allergic to several but from 30 weeks a stomach acid suppressant called ranatidine has been working wonders). Also as inconvenient as it is, if it gets to the point you need to go to hospital, the drip makes you feel ten times better!

There's a hyperemesis support thread on here. Well worth a look at.

Feel better soon!

I went through this for ages and it's horrible. All I can say is keep eating until you keep something down as hunger makes it so much worse, or did for me anyway. For me, toast or cheese sandwiches usually stayed down, but it doesn't matter what it is (all my plans of healthy eating went out the window for months and I just ate whatever I could stomach). Something will stay down eventually, and I always find once my stomach is 'lined' with something, the sickness gets a bit better.

I've had sickness before, but never the hunger, it's the hunger that's getting to me

I'm 14 weeks, thought it would all be over by now Sad

I know exactly how you feel. I went through this until 16 weeks. I'm now 17 weeks so the memory is vivid.

I found tuc buscuits and flavoured sparkling water or lemonade were all I could keep down. Just don't down a drink, sip it little bits or I would see it again.

I also found that when I ate the bad food I was craving, but trying to avoid such as chips and anything salty, I could keep them down! Sometimes I think your body tells you what you need. Just eat what you fancy and don't worry about nutrition until you can stomach anything! Hope this helps

Thankyou all for the tips

I've sent DP out for some ice lollies - I really just need my mouth to be wet! And surely you can't throw ice lollies up can you??
I guess I'll see in about 20 minutes...

14 weeks is great- I know it doesn't feel like it but by 20 weeks you will be feeling a lot better than you are now!

If you have literally kept nothing down all day (inc water) I would consider a&e- dehydration is the pits and it does help.

Head over to the hypermesis support thread- you don't have to be 'diagnosed' to get help there. And Lucinda and the others over there are fantastic.

Lots of people find awful food like McDonald's chicken nuggets and Diet Coke actually helps in these situations. Either that or ice lollys- the fruit pastels ice lollys were good for me.

Flowers. It will pass. It will!

Hey! I feel your pain lol, I was literally so hungry but everything was just coming back up! Sounds crazy but I read that sniffing or sucking on a lemon can help so I tried it when I got the feeling I was about to be sick and it really worked for me! I also bought lemon sherbets and they've helped so much, just a thought! Xxx

Update! You can indeed throw up ice pops
I've told DP if I can't keep at least a drink down tomorrow I'm going to A&E so he better be prepared
Too tired now, today has wiped me out
Just going to crawl into my pit and pray for it to be over soon

Thanks all for the advice Smile

Go first thing if no improvement. Once the cycle is this bad it very often needs fluids to help. It is amazing how anti sickness meds and fluids through and IV improves things.

I hope you get some sleep tonight but be really careful with the dehydration.
