Pregnancy

I'm so worried

Hi all,

I had a miscarriage roughly 7.5 weeks ago, was sent home from a&e and told to take my own home tests u til it was negative. I did this and all was fine.

2 weeks ago, I took another pregnancy test and it was positive. I obviously was very apprehensive and have been anxious ever since.

I took a light bleed on the evening of the 22nd but apart from a little brown discharge now and again since, I have been clear.

I had an appointment this morning at the local epu and despite having both an belly and internal scan all they could say was that the lining of my womb looked nice and thick but it seemed too early to see anything else.

I got blood taken and hey are to ring me in a few days with the results and pending these I will have to go back at the end of next week they said.

I am now even more anxious than before Confused I don't know whether I am still pregnant or loosing. I even took a test this morning and it is still extremely strong and my boobs are still very sore and tender.

Could it just be that I'm very early or should I really expect this to turn out negative?

I understand there's still hope but I'm finding it very difficult to keep positive x

I've been pregnant three times, and had some bleeding three times. Twice all was OK, once was a miscarriage. Until I was properly miscarrying, unmistakably so, there was no difference. With the miscarriage I had no other symptoms and didn't feel pregnant. So take from that what you can, bleeding is common and can mean nothing. But unfortunately at this stage all you can do is wait. I know that's hard

I understand just how scary this is for you but please know that you can barely see anything until at least 6 weeks, 7/8 is much better for an early scan. Have you a rough idea how far you are?

Thanks AlexandraEiffel, I understand it's a waiting game... I just hoped someone had maybe gone through the same thing with an early scan.

LynseyH, when I first went to the doctor which was the 18th of August she said if I counted from the miscarriage I would have ovulated roughly 2 weeks after that date which would have made it somewhere around 23-25th of July, at that rate I am only around 5 weeks but I'm not sure if that's how they would even work that. I have been reading that thread and it gives me hope so I most definitely will join, thank you Smile

I'll respond here as the info is here, I'll completely forget by the time I've swapped threads lol. If the calculation is correct, 5 weeks is really too soon and therefore no cause for concern as yet. Did you not have a period between the mc and new pregnancy? I'm guessing not as obviously the usually process is to calculate from the first day of last period. Right now I want to just say congratulations, look after yourself and keep in touch with us! There are many happy stories on our thread at the minute Smile

No LynseyH I didn't have a period in between which is where things get so messy and confusing.

I took a test this morning and it was very positive so I just don't understand it. I'm trying not to torture myself but it's very difficult.

I have joined the other thread so I appreciate your help x
