Can't cope with the nausea and exhaustion

Any ideas of what to do? I've got a preschooler already but this time around the symptoms are ten fold worse than they were with dc1. Asking someone else to look after dc1 for various reasons isn't an option. The nausea is utterly horrendous and I feel like I'm constantly on a small boat in a storm. What to do?!

This is exactly how I was, it was horrendous, especially looking after 3 yr old ds at the same time!!
My advice is 1) GP- and ask for anti nausea meds. I tried a couple but settled on stematil, which I am still having occasionally now at 18 weeks, and helps loads.
2) Cancel any plans that aren't essential. Don't drag yourself to social occasions feeling like this, it's just not worth it!!
3) don't panic- it will ease. By 15 weeks I felt completely different. 4) drink loads. Being dehydrated makes it much worse.

I took Pregnacare vitamins & felt a million times worse on them, just in case you are on them?

I stopped them & felt so much better.

Yes I am on pregnacare! I'll ask for stematil. I'm on cyclizine at the moment. I've cancelled everything I can but that almost makes it just as hard as im at home trying to entertain my 3 year old. I'm dreading today so much.

I'm with you! I'm 8 weeks and have a 4 year old too. I'm nauseous 24 hrs a day and so tired. Can cope better at home but it's worse at work or out with other people as no one knows I'm pregnant so I can't even moan about it

Yes I find that bit hard too as I can't tell anyone. I'm trying to keep busy this morning just to try and distract myself. Not working very well!

Lie low, telly on! What age is preschooler? There's a massive difference between 2 and 2.5 and 3. If 3.5+, get on to Amazon and buy a load of make and do kits. Preschooler can make stuff on the floor as you lie beside with your bucket and offer the odd bit of guidance. It will pass!

Aw I just wanted to offer reassurance that it will get better! I felt horrendous too, was on cyclizine until 11ish wks then as the school holidays began, I decided to see if I could cope without and thankfully I could. Still get tired easily but can mostly eat normally again. I'm now 16+1 and my only major complaint is a constant headache. I do have 3 boys though so sure they make it worse ;-)

Thank you. I've only just been able to move from lying in bed and had a shower. The cyclizine isn't really cutting it at the moment. I think I will have to get something else prescribed. It will pass though!

Me too, I've just ordered some B6 to take with the cyclizine as the Internet tells me it helps with nausea.

I'm only 6wks pg and feel awful all the time. Stopped being sick thanks to the cyclizine. Tried to miss a dose last night and threw up in the middle of the night.

Oh dear god, I'd forgotten how miserable morning sickness is :(

Hi ladies, my first ever post on a forum, just wanting to moan really! I'm 6 weeks pregnant after trying for 3 years and eventually IVF. We are so grateful that this has finally happened to us but my gosh I feel rubbish! Getting horrible bouts of nausea now and just feel like I've got the flu, freezing cold and knackered! Also feel high as a kite one minute and really low the next which isn't like me. I hate hate hate feeling/being sick and it's making me anxious. Thinking I'll be feeling like this for a lot longer yet!! 😑
