Time to call triage?

I'm a day or 2 off 32 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child and for the last couple of weeks I've been having some cramps at the top of my tummy...which I put down to braxton hicks. The last 2 days though the pain has been getting worse - I dont think its labour as there isn't any pattern, but its really quite painful and making it difficult to concentrate on anthing else.

I thik I'm worrying myself as I had traces of protein in my last sample at 28 weeks - would you call triage? I dont want to be dramatic...but I'm not sure if I am.

No other symptoms.

I would maybe contact your midwife but, if you can't get hold of them, give triage a ring as they can give you advice over the phone.

Hope it's just pesky Braxton Hicks for you, and nothing more.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not even sure what braxton hicks should feel like as I didnt have them last time - the pain seems a bit sharper than contractions (from what I remember) and I cant feel any tightening in uterus when it happens.

Think you should get your blood pressure checked. Protein in your urine and upper gastric pain can be signs of pre-eclampsia.

Get checked out

I'm 31+6 and having bh that are uncomfortable verging on slightly painful but I can tell it is bh due to the tightenings

Have you spoken to triage? If your uterus isn't tightening then unlikely to be BH; could just be random pains, I had them a bit like that, but coupled with the protein in urine best to be checked out, just in case.

Thanks ladies. I'm at triage just now, they've done all the usual checks and baby seems healthy and happy in there 😁 I'm in a bit of pain but can't seem to find any obvious reason for it. Looks like it's just something I'm going to have to out up with for the next 8 weeks or so. As long as baby is ok I can deal with that X

Glad all seems well Smile I was in and out of triage with both pregnancies as the babies kept stopping moving with no reason found. It is always better to be safe than sorry!

Did they check your bp? Mine was missed until 40 weeks then it was panic stations. My community midwife should have taken action but put my bp down to having to climb a steep flight of stairs, despite me being a normal, healthy weight with a small bump.

They checked bp, urine and put me on trace for an hour. I have to say they were really helpful and didn't make me feel silly at all. glad I went in and got peace of mind!
