Weekend shifts getting to much

I normally work 6 days a week. suppose to get the weekend off every few weeks.

They want more people on the shift now on a weekend and the lack of staff has meant working several weekends without a weekend off.

Can i insisit they give me a weekend off.

Have you told them you're pregnant? If so they have a duty of care, and should do a risk assessment, what that actually means is debatable.

Yeah they know.

One guy moaned about the amount of weekend it has increased to and he was told if you don't like it leave.

I think the guidance is at least one day off a week, so if your getting Sundays off, they are meeting the legal requirements.
That said, they need to take account of your pregnancy. Do they know??
Would agreeing to work Saturdays, but getting Sunday Monday off as a block to help you? Or just simply a second day off as often as you would have got a Saturday off? There could be other ways to get the time off without demanding the Saturdays off, unless Sat is particularly necessary for some reason?

Are weekend shifts more difficult than weekday shifts? I would definitely ask for days off but not sure you can specify weekend unless a reason (for example a shop may busier meaning less chance of a break)

It is an office environment, constantly on the phones. I don't mind working the Saturday or Sunday but am feeling exhausted come the end of the week. Not helped when you know your next weekend off isn't for 8 weeks!

Actually it feels like the week just flows into the next and Monday feels just as tiring as the Friday.

The constant shift changes recently haven't helped. 10-6, 8-4, 10-6 and then 9-5.

Just messes with your bodyclock.

What time we have lunch and dinner and sleeping patterns.

I'm suremany people wont think an hour or two makes a difference.

But i find with travelling home and then cooking dinner it really does.

I'd ask for set shifts - it's a reasonable pregnancy request.

As soon as I found out and told work, I wasn't allowed to work past 9pm so I could get home and rest rather than work later.

Now they've cut my shifts down again (very lucky I still get paid full) but they've been very accommodating as could see I was trying my hardest to do what I can but at nearly 30 weeks I'm starting to flag, as although I'm sat behind a computer it's a very intense, mentally draining job I do sometimes

All depends on your contract, what does it say?

I wonder if you could go to the GP with a fit note saying you can work but need regular days off?
