Pregnant with ddc3 and I've changed my mind

This is the first time I've posted on mumsnet but I was hoping for some words of wisdom. Dd1 is 4 next month and dd2 is 18 months. Almost as soon as dd2 was born (I'm talking in hospital) I said I wanted another. Dd2 was a much easier baby for me - and I managed to bf her which I couldn't for dd1 and found I really enjoyed it. I've been on mumsnet looking at broody threads and discussions about having a third - getting all gooey. DH and I talked about it at length and decided we were too exhausted / broke / emotionally spent for dc3. Summary: we love the idea of another but could not begin to imagine how we'd find any emotional resources for him / her. Decision made. And now I find I'm pregnant . Aargh! I hoped Dh and I would become all mushy and pleased but all we've come up with is f*. Please help / advise / reassure me!

I said the same thing with dd2. I had a fantastic birth, bf was easy, she was easy. Fast forward 10 months and l am now feeling the exhaustion of having 2 dc and juggling my time.

How far gone are you?

Our youngest DS was a major surprise, found out when I was 18 weeks and had a 5 month old. We panicked massively! All through the pregnancy I was so exhausted and panicky I couldn't see how this was a good idea (termination just not an option for us). Two and a half years in, we couldn't picture life without him. Yes it's been tough (DP works long hours 12-16 a day, major issues with dsds, just generally being knackered in the first year, DS had allergies/health problems) but in spite of all our worries, it works. Literally couldn't imagine not having him, and wouldn't want to.

Thank you ayeok- sounds like a nightmare so really reassuring to know you're happy. Not far gone Diggersrest - my period is late so 4 weeks?

We tried for a year for dc2 decided as DS was going to school we would stop trying and stick with 1 I then ended up pregnant before I got round to sorting birth control we had been just avoiding ovulation time could not believe it after a year of trying at all the right times!

Ds2 is due at the end of the month and while sometimes I'm thinking I'm off my head starting again with sleepless nights and nappies when ds1 is a self-sufficient fun easy kid, life is so easy compared to the baby toddler years but if someone offered to erase this pregnancy now there is no way I would do it. Bring on the madness Grin

I feel awful when I think back to how detached I was from him when I was pregnant. It's natural to panic, and to worry but you'll cope xxx

I was the same OP at the earlier stages of this pregnancy. I'd had 4 miscarriages and really desperate to have DC3 - I'd actually given up hope. Then I got pregnant and I felt nothing. I was so tired at the start and had bad morning sickness and low iron. I was lying in bed miserable and getting depressed. I felt no happiness about being pregnant and felt it was a mistake. Now at 7 months pregnant I'm finally feeling very positive about it - actually looking foreword to it.
