no idea what to call my baby

I'm only 12 weeks but I literally have no idea Sad. I've only had 2 boys names ever picked out and I have 2 ds so they have those names. Before I found out I was expecting my dh dad passed away and he said with a smile, you will have a baby boy now and we can give him dads name. Trouble with this is dh mum wouldn't be happy as she brought the kids up and dh and his dad were pretty much estranged. When I was expecting before I picked different girls names each time and I feel almost it would be tempting fate to pick a girls name. Is it possible to look at your baby and pick a name? I don't want anything unusual as I have a different name and its been nothing but a pita also I don't want to go for a popular one.

It is hard to pick a name. Are you going to find out the gender whilst you are pregnant?

I have 2 sons and found out yesterday that I'm having my 3rd boy. There are a few names I like and I'm not going to put to much pressure on myself if I still am unsure untill he is born then we will decide then.

I think you just need to go with a name you and your husband decide on and not worry about he's mum.

If you don't want anything overly popular and not too different maybe go for a classic underused name

Like Francis for boy or Frances for a girl
Paul is nice for a boy. Stephen.

Ruth.

I don't know - its so hard.

Over the next 28 weeks every time you hear a name you quite like, write it on the notes section of your phone. When your baby comes have a look at your list and see what suits him/her.
If you don't won't a common name erase any name that is in the current top 20 baby names.

I have found Nameberry quite good, you can search names and then look at names that other people liked, who also liked that name (hope that makes sense! Kind of like the 'people who bought this item also bought these' section on Amazon, but for names!' You could look at your son's names on there and see what else was popular based on that.

You have ages to find a name though. Or not- my older sister named me!
