Unexpected positive test

I have 2 children already, almost 11 and 6.5. I'm a couple of days late so I did a test to reassure myself that I wasn't pregnant, but it's positive. I have no idea how I feel. H is not going to be happy about it I don't think. Not angry but another baby was not in the plan. I've been having some health issues and I'm waiting for joint surgery, that won't be able to go ahead. I had terrible SPD with my second which will be even worse with the joint problems Im having now.
I'm 35 so not too old but it's just not what we planned. I can't believe it.

I think maybe a little time to process this and a chat with your husband might help.... tentatively saying congratulations :-)

Thanks LynseyH5. I have no idea how I feel right now!

You'll get there :-) have you told your husband yet? I hope he is supporting you and not out cold on the floor!

Yes I've told him, he is pretty shell shocked! He isn't sure we should continue the pregnancy but is supportive of whatever I want, lots of talking done and lots to come I think. Thankyou for replying, it's good to know someone's out there!

Talking does help so I'd hate to think you didn't have anyone on the 'outside'! It is sometimes nice to have an outsiders opinion.
I'm glad your husband is being supportive, men are always the more practical I think and aren't so emotionally attached. Can be a good thing but can also be a nightmare when trying to decide something as big as this.
Keep me updated!!

First of all, many hugs to you - even when you're planning/wanting/expecting a pregnancy, the positive is still huge, as a pregnancy changes your life no matter what the outcome.

It's really early, so you have a bit of time to process before it's too late to make any decisions. I think from what you say in your post, you're leaning more towards continuing, but it's good to think through your options and make continuing (or not) your active decision (since getting PG in the first place wasn't really an active decision).

Maybe a good first step would be to speak to your GP about this? Would definitely be good to have the full picture in relation to your health and joint issues as soon as possible. They might want to monitor you more closely, and if you're on any meds, you might need them changed.

I hope things go well for you from here on out, and we're all here for you if you need to talk.

We're still undecided! I'm leaning more to continuing with the pregnancy but H is not, he does however say he will support me in whatever I want to do. So now I don't know what to do and feel like I need to decide on my own. I spoke to my best friend today, she didn't have any idea either but let me talk and was supportive.

I'm also just pregnant with an unexpected #3. Sending love and offering handholds..

Ereni, I hope you're doing ok as well. It's a bit of a mind fuck isn't it?
