What's the best baby carrier that won't hurt your shoulders neck and back too much

I would recommend the ergo 360 or a similar design. The wide waist belt means you don't put strain on your shoulders or back and it's super comfy.

I'm prone to back pain but can happily carry my DD in the ergo even now, she's ten months. Plus it's super ergonomic for baby (hip positioning) so it's a win win!

Go along to your nearest sling library and try on lots before spending your money. I loved my Close Caboo when DD was tiny, and my Connecta now.

Another vote for the Ergo! I had one with DS 9 years ago and used it from 8 months almost daily until he was 3... I have a bad back too and didn't suffer. My only regret was not being able to get one earlier as I lived overseas and had to wait until a trip to the UK to buy one.

It's a great idea to go to your local sling library or meet, they'll help you get one that suits you.

If you can't do that then I highly recommend it's a sling thing website, they rent our slings, I tried a few then bought one I liked best. I have a boba 4G and a connecta.

Stretchy wrap is great for a newborn.

From around 3 months I've used a Connecta which I love now I've got the positioning right!

If you want a padded waist belt, but pretty and simple like a connecta you can get a rose and rebellion. I love love mine. I got mine after DD1 was causing pain in a baby bjorn. I carried her until she was 3 on my back! No pain. So useful and pretty!

Ergo 360. But a wrap is easier with a newborn.

I love my Tula... But different slings suit different people so best to try a couple if you can. If you don't have a sling library near you, you can hire them from a company called "it's a sling thing" online. I bought mine from there in the end.

Definitely get an ergonomic one though, not a baby bjorn etc.

Newborns in stretchy wraps are the one thing that make me instantly broody! Moby wrap, carri-me etc, you can wear it all day and pop baby in and out as needed! It was so invaluable for me with DS2! I loved being able to wear it in the car then pop him in!

Then I moved to a moby aria which was gorgeous, but now I have a connecta - he's 14months.

If you are a bit nervous then it's great to visit a sling meet, they will help you. Stretchy slings are wonderful for teeny new babies.

You need to follow the TICKS guidelines about babywearing, Google the guidelines.

You always need to have your baby close enough to kiss, baby should be quite high, under your chin, with their head to the side and making sure their chin and neck is extended up rather than slumped down on their chest.

Hard to explain! Easier to get someone to show you or try YouTube for instruction videos.

I had a stretchy wrap from birth and attended a local sling library to make sure I was using it properly. Now, I have an ergo 360 which I love, my DD is almost 14 months and it never hurts my back or shoulders.
