10 weeks & really painful stomach pains - Reassurance needed :(

Hi everyone. I'm 10 weeks along (11 tomorrow) - last night I was woken up at about 1am with really sore stomach pains which lasted about 8-10 seconds before it went away. It was all the way across my stomach. After about a gap of a minute or two it happened twice more then went away. I've had no bleeding thankfully but I was terrified that something was going wrong.
I've had faint pains off and on since I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks but nothing like this. I phoned the midwife this morning and she said it was probably just stretching pains - I'm not convinced as they were so painful that I was doubled over.
I have the midwife for blood tests tomorrow so I'll ask her again but I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced anything similar? I can't concentrate at work thinking something's gone wrong :(

Could be your intestines sorting themselves out - happened to me. However, speak to a midwife. Your are not being a nuisance - who else is going to stand up for you if you don't.

I had very similar at around 9 weeks; I was actually laid on the floor in waves of agony just like contractions (and I have a fairly high pain threshold), went to a&e. I spent the next four days (waiting for a scan) just waiting for bleeding to start. The pain had gone the next day but I knew it was all over. Had an internal scan, all fine. He's now nearly 4 Smile

I had urine infections twice during pregnancy and had such bad pains I would have sworn I was in labour.

For one crazy second I did think they were contractions and something had gone awfully wrong. I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow so I'll bring it up with her.
Thanks to you all so much for getting back too me :)

I usually get bad pains when my bladder is full. How are you now?

The MW on the phone could be right - the round ligament being stretched can really, really hurt. Have a google to see where it is and see if the placement looks right. A hot water bottle helps if it lingers.

I had shocking round ligament pains this time round from about the same stage. So painful! Also had constipation/bad gas for most of the 1st tri and that was horrendous sometimes too - doubled up in agony levels of pain. And I have a high pain threshold! If you have no bleeding and the pains ease off again, I wouldn't be hugely worried tbh. Best of luck to you Flowers
