Possible pregnancy?

My husband got a Vasectomy in October. We do not use protection any more. On Friday, I got what looked like a period. It was right around the time I was expecting it. Leading up to it, I was crabby and in pain, waiting for it to come. When I got it, it was not my usual type of period. Not as much blood, and it only lasted for one day! Mine usually lasts 3-5 days. It hasn't come back, 2 days later. I decided to try a pregnancy test just in case, but the line is so faint I can barely see it. So faint that I didn't even see it at first, it just looked negative. But then my lower back started hurting, so I checked the test again, and now I think I might see a very faint line.. I am wondering if it is possible to be pregnant even with these circumstances? And before you judge me, no I did not sleep with someone else. I have been faithfully married to my husband for over five years.

Photo of the test?

Try a pink dye test?

It's really hard to see, and I may just be nuts and not seeing anything.

I can't see anything. Did your DH get the all clear from his sperm count tests after his vasectomy?

I figure that if I don't see another "period" by next Friday, I will take another test and see what happens.

No, he never went in, but we kind of assumed after 8 months that it was fine, since I have been getting periods every month. It's just very odd for me to only have a period for half a day

I think assuming he was fine was potentially a mistake. Getting periods every month is not an indication that a vasectomy has worked, it's an indication you're not yet pregnant.

I am thinking you are right. I am trying not to stress about it. I was just hoping to get others views on what might be going on. I am not overly stressed (I don't think). I guess I will just take it day by day and see what happens. It could just be a freak period for all I know.

I can't see a line at all.

I think you might be over thinking this.

Get your dh to get the final check done. Dh had a vasectomy about 5 years ago and I only relaxed when the final check came back "empty".

I think I can see a faintest of faint lines....

I think I can see what you mean too. I would definitely test again in a few days, especially as you never checked his sperm count afterwards. There's a reason they do that test even on the NHS.

Here's the most recent test. Uh oh. I am still going to test in a week to see if it's a for sure thing.

That's definitely a line...

Yeah that's a line! I'd double check with a pink due test or a digital though.

I would def get a pink dye test but if that arrived in the time frame.... I guess his swimmers are still getting through!

Can deffo see a line!!! :) How exciting! Just to make sure, buy a digi or a pink dye test - I actually always found the cheap ones from a pharmacy or Poundland very good (after AF is due) as you usually get a pretty strong line. Good luck!

Technically it was due on the 7th and I've just been spotting since then.

OP, how do you feel about this?

Your OP clearly never wanted any more children I assume, hence the vasectomy.

Do you think he will be supportive?

Do you want this baby if you are pregnant?

Sorry to be so serious, but it seems that some have jumped in with congratulations, but I feel a tone to this that it's not a happy thing for you.

Hope you are ok OP

I'm still getting a negative test but I'm not sure if I am or not. Would a one pad period count as a period if it wasn't really a full one? I only needed one pad, and nothing since. I do feel off. Tired all the time now. If I were to be, I would be overjoyed. I love my children, and if we are meant to have another one it would be a miracle. My husband is supportive no matter what. Yes it wasn't in the plan, but that's life right?

That sounds like implantation bleeding, not a period. Given that and the line I think congratulations are in order.Flowers
