I'm 13 weeks with my first - had my 12 week scan last week and got an appointment through the post to see an obstetrician later this week. Is this routine?

Totally depends - do you have an increased risk for anything such as a pre-existing medical condition, a family history of pregnancy/birth issues, a high BMI, history of blood clots etc?

Or have you requested a c-section or had prior surgery in same general area?

Only thing I can think of is hereditary blindness in my family - otherwise no to all those Carrot! Thanks for replying

Could be that so they can look at whether they need any specialist paediatric people around at the birth

As above. You would only have such an early appointment if there is something in your history that needs early investgation or treatment.

It is not unheard of for antenatal clinics to send out appointments in error. Give them a ring.

What the others said. Agree about things sent in error. I've been sent a vbac clinic appointment with #2. First was certainly not a csec! Rang to check and it was just an error so was cancelled!
