Does anyone else not feel pregnant?

So this is my first pregnancy and I'm only 5 weeks but I really thought I'd FEEL pregnant and I literally feel nothing, just completely normal. No sore boobs, no sickness, no tiredness or high emotions. I'm a worrier anyway so please... someone tell me they had no symptoms too and everything is fine?!! We conceived pretty much straight away cycle #1 after 12 years on the pill so I've convinced myself my body didn't have time to adjust and get ready for a baby yet.

Another 7 weeks seems like such a long time to wait for the first scan and know things are coming along as they should :(. There is a place local to me that does private scans at ÂŁ75 each and I'm considering booking one to (hopefully) reassure me. I can't really afford it but it seems like a good idea for peace of mind.

Sorry to be so negative, I just feel like I should be so excited and happy but all I feel is scared that come the scan there won't be anything there.

I'm 17+4 and have had no symptoms whatsoever. Everything was fine at 12 week scan and 16 week heartbeat check.

I totally understand how you feel...waiting for that first scan felt like an eternity!!

I would tell you not to worry but it is only natural that you will.

Congratulations Flowers

I felt pregnant, when I was. Though I did get morning sickness. I rarely felt any movement and ended up with a C-section.

I felt like a complete fraud who was just handed a baby after a certain amount of time.

Would your doctor be able to refer you for a scan at an early pregnancy unit?

I didn't feel pregnant until 9-10 weeks. I had a scan at 7 weeks which reassured me for a day and was amazing, definitely eirth the money, but the fear returned pretty quickly after. i think having no symptoms us actually ok as long as you don't have bleeding and cramping.

5 weeks is still quite early for symptoms - mine didn't come till about 7 weeks.

I could have written your post a couple of days ago but this morning at exactly 6 weeks pregnant the morning sickness started! This is #2 for me and I definitely had much sorer boobs by this point last time but the sickness started around the same time.

Thanks everyone :). I've read that no symptoms is fine as long as you didn't have them and then they suddenly stopped so fingers crossed everything is fine. I think I'll give it a few more weeks til 7/8 weeks then consider paying for a scan if still not feeling anything but they might have kicked in by then by the sounds of it. Thanks :)

I never felt pregnant with my first child and I don't feel pregnant this time. The only thing that is different is that I'm shattered.
Every pregnancy is different, try not to stress and enjoy it! xxx

Oh my god I feel the same way! I am about 8 and half weeks pregnant! I have some symptoms but I convince myself something is wrong because I dont have the common symptoms like larger breasts, being sick! Ive got heartburn, hiccups, feeling sick from lunch time until late in the evening, dizziness, tiredness, mood swings! Ive had some but not some of the "main" symptoms.
I have a dating viability scan tomorrow morning and I am terrified that nothing will be there or no heart beat. I am such a worrier :'(
This is my first baby and after being told id struggle a lot to have a baby I feel truly blessed as this was a big shock and total surprise!!
Fingers and toes crossed
xxxx

Hello, just wanted to add a little comment Grin
When you type into Google, "most common pregnancy symptoms", sore boobs is always at the top of the list.

Now I've had 3 boys and not once did I ever have soreness, itching or tingling! I'm now pregnant with number 4 (8+4) and have had mild soreness and very annoying tickly nipples! (Sorry for tmi!)

Only symptoms I've had in my previous pregnancies (and this one) is nausea and sickness. It's started at different points too. Earliest I got it was 4 wks, latest 6 weeks. This one was bang on 5.

Guess what I'm getting at, is all pregnancies and all ladies are different so try not to worry.

I think the statistics are 85% of women get morning sickness, so if you avoid it, your one of the lucky ones!
Good luck and keep us updated!

Hi,

I'm 19wk 5days today. I had my 20wk anomaly scan today and even though I've seen the baby looking amazing and wriggly on the screen this morning I still don't feel pregnant.

I've got a bump and cab feel little flutters but other than that I've had s very easy time of it with just tiredness as a symptom.

I am loving thus pregnancy lark but understand it's not this easy for everyone.

I'm not sure what being pregnant is meant to feel like?!

Good luck, you'll love the scan. I've had 2 reassurance private ones. Worth every penny. Smile

I didn't feel pregnant with my first until about 6/7 weeks when the sickness and tiredness hit me all at once. It lasted until 17wks. And I didn't have any symptoms with my previous pregnancy and this one until 6/7 weeks again.

Everyone's different, some women have nothing. It is hard because that's part of pregnancy, gives you comfort in a way, and all that's spoken about but it's never the same for everyone.

Just a note of caution on getting a private scan. Don't book one too soon as a)you'll only freak out if they say they can't see much and b) you may have your dates slightly off so again, go in too early and they wont be able to see anything to help your fears. I'd really recommend waiting to closer to 8 weeks to really see anything that will help make you feel better. I had to have one at 6 weeks (previous medical history reasons) and they can't always see a heartbeat yet at that time so it freaked me out a bit. I am now 28 weeks along and aside from being tired and the odd spot outbreak on my back have had no symptoms. Good luck xx

Thanks :). dollface unfortunately if anything we conceived earlier than I thought as we dtd last on cd15 and then not again til cd22 and I got BFP on cd28 so I'm pretty sure of dates but thanks anyway... I'll definitely wait until around 8 weeks but thinking I'll pay for private then if not feeling any different. Thanks again everyone x

I'm 17+3 and I don't feel pregnant at all! I found out at 5 weeks and it felt like a lifetime waiting for my 12 week scan, but it was so worth the wait! I've had no sickness, no cravings, no flutters and all I've got is a podgy belly! I've got my anomaly scan in 2 weeks, and will hopefully find out whether it's a bit of girl, and then I can talk to the little one and it'll feel a bit more real!!

You sound exactly like me and I'm now 37 weeks. I never had any sickness. No cravings.
I just felt tired for the first couple of months and was soo sooo thirsty. Easily drinking 3-4 litres of water per day. I don't want to speak too soon as I still have another three weeks left. But I've practically sailed through this pregnancy malarkey

Please try not to worry too much xx

I posted a thread a few weeks ago saying exactly the same thing - mild nausea (started at 6w to the day!), slightly bigger boobs but no real symptoms and that was at 10w. We've since had our 12w scan and everything is fine and even the nausea is gone too so now I totally don't feel pregnant! If we didnt have photographic evidence, I'd probably deny it lol

I was just wandering if anyone is taking insulin? I have to just take it at night during my pregnancy and I've only had to do it the last 2 days - the next day I am so tired it feels like I am kinda drunk and I could practically sleep all day, infact I sleep for about 5 hours or more in the day!!! Im starting a new job Monday so nervous really of how I'll cope with this feeling.
Not sure if it's a side affect or if anyone else have felt this extremely tired? I'm 9 weeks
