Sharp pains...and a cold

I'm 15+1 with baby #2 and have an incompetent cervix. On Friday night I was lying on the couch and suddenly I got a really sharp pain, in my lower stomach and just to the side. It lasted about 10 seconds then went. 5 mins later the same thing happened and again and again for about 30 mins. I was getting ready to tell the hubby I need to go to hospital (I thought I was having contractions) but then it stopped. The rest of the weekend I've just had little twinges on either side. Read up on google, could be ligaments/muscular. My heads telling me somethings wrong.

Has anyone else experienced this? Also when I sneeze, it feels like I've been stabbed!

Oh and to top it off, I've got an awful cold. Sore throat and ears and I can't breathe through my nose, any advise on what I can take?

Sorry for the rant. First baby was nearly 10 years ago so everything feels new and scary.

Does sound like ligaments stretching to me, possibly made worse if you've been coughing or sneezing? If you're worried can you call the Midwifes for reassurance?
