Hi all,

I'm 21 weeks tomorrow with my first little girl. When I had my scan last week they said I've got an anterior placenta so may feel reduced movements.

I've had 2 solid kicks off her since last Sunday, but the past 4-5 days she's been dancing a fair bit of the day on my bladder, clear movements

Today however I've felt nothing! Is it too early to think anything of it or how long would you leave it?

I've tried walking, cold drink and been in car - where she seemed to come alive lately!

Any ideas?

Ring midwifes and go in and get checked. It's much better to be safe than sorry. And it was always guaranteed to get dd moving Grin. I ended up having traces twice a week for six weeks in the end, she was just a pain of a baby. Midwives always told me they'd rather see you everyday and it all be fine than not at all.

I should say pain of baby is now a pain of a 3 yo. No reason ever found for reduced movements at times and she's now fine.

Hi Dlah, I agree- always ring in, even if you feel like you're being a massive pain in the backside. I find when I've had to call in they assume you're "anxious" but at the end of the day the guidance everywhere is ring in if in doubt! So!
However, just to (hopefully) reassure you, I'm 23 weeks now and had this situation last week- I barely felt baby move for almost 4 days after a really active few weeks. (I don't have an anterior placenta). The midwife told me they wouldn't be able to do traces until beyond 26 weeks I think (baby brain) but she also said that at this stage the baby is tiny and can just move around to a place where it's not easy to feel. She told me that they usually don't worry unless it's been five days without movement. Like I say, you should still ring in, but hopefully it'll be nothing to worry about. Good luck x
