Trying for a baby after cerazette!

Hi. I've been off cerazette for a little over a month now as me and my fiancé decided we would like to try for a baby.

I've bought ovulation strips ( if that's what you call them) to test when I am ovulation but it's coming back negative no matter how many I take? I thought maybe pregnant but still negative for both.

I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how this works after this pill. Like my chances of falling pregnant, waiting time, how many times do I have sex, do I need a period first? Like I'm sick of reading unhelpful posts or people with horror stories. I feel so hopeless :( someone please help.

I was on cerazette. I fell pregnant almost instantly, I didn't have a period and was beginning to worry about why. Sadly, that pregnancy didn't work out.
We then ttc for 8 months and in that time I learned that the ovulation sticks are crap. They were so unreliable, I kept missing my ovulation.
Upon discussing this with the doc, we were advised to "go at it like rabbits" and that month we dtd at least every second day. Fell pregnant that month.
My advice? Don't use the opks, they'll stress you out. Have loads of sex and enjoy it!
Best of luck Wink

As above! Ds2 must have been conceived within a couple of months after coming off cerazette. They suggest waiting for a period just to help with dating a pregnancy. Don't forget to start the folic acid Smile

I conceived DS1 on first cycle of trying, had come off cerazette a few months earlier after being on it for 8+ years.. Went back on it before trying for dc2 and currently 30 weeks pregnant Smile

I was on Cerazette and I didn't get a period for 7 months after stopping taking it. Once my periods returned I got pregnant in about 4 months.
Just prepare yourself that it might take some time, some people get periods straight away whereas others have to wait for a while.
Hope all goes well for you, I know how frustrating it can be.

I definitely second pp advice, just have loads of sex. Aim for every other day, but don't make it a chore.
I was pregnant within 4 months each time (preg with DC 3 now) once without a period after the cerrazette.
They were able to date accurately of the scan anyway.

It took me 18 months to get pregnant after coming off Cerazette. It may have taken that long anyway though, there's no way of knowing for sure! Good luck.

I never got positive OPKs. I did get pregnant though. Both times we had sex every other day for a month, I got pregnant. It did take a few months to get regular periods post-Cerazette.

Came of cerazette to ttc. Took 4 months of trying. But only at the 4th month when we took a little break (had sex twice!) I fell pregnant! Good luck!

Ooh. If you plan to go back on cerazette afterwards, it might not have the same effects. Before pregnancy, cerazette had the wonderful side effect of no periods, now I have them but irregular and I've been on it for 3 months since having ds. Might just be me tho! :)

Came off, had bleed 3 days later, then no period for 6 weeks, thought my body was a bit messed up as kept getting negative tests, felt a bit weird, took one final test, pregnant!

It took four months for my periods to come back after coming off cerazette. Mine had stopped completely, I just used to get a tiny bit of spotting every six months or so.

Then took another 14 months to get my bfp, but that was unrelated!

Like Rpj16 my body hasn't responded so well to going back on it at 6 weeks after DS was born Sad after bleeding constantly for 3 weeks and so heavily that I was soaking through a night time pad every hour, I stopped taking it and am just using condoms at the moment!! Might try it again in a few months by which time my hormones might have calmed down?

Came off cerazette, waited about 6 weeks for first period, conceived 3 months later.

I do think you probably need to relax a bit. It is still very, very early days.

Ive recently joined mn as ttc for 1st time. There is a thread in the conception section for people who are ttc after coming off the pill come and join! I was on lucette so different pill but for me I had a break through bleed after finishing last pack and then only a 26 day cycle before next one. It's a good thread to see what other people are doing and ask any questions you have :)

I was on Cerazette for about 4 years. I came off it and my periods went back to normal after two months. And five months after coming off it I fell pregnant! I'm now 14+4. But everyone is different, please don't worry to much about it, easier said than done, I know, but just try and relax. I was a little stressed about at first, but then calmed down about it, I didn't think about it and it just happened! Good luck xxxx

I have a totally different experience.....after stopping cerazette, took three and a half years of trying! I think you just need to remember that everyone is different, and it may not just be the pill that has an impact.

Hey all!

Been trying everything lately, even propping myself up after sex (so sexy) but negative test after test after test and I'm getting so low!

I feel pregnant, I'm sick, I have cravings, sore boobs, aching like I have so many it's crazy I'm not pregnant all these tests are upsetting me. It's so hard to stay positive :'(

I conceived 2 weeks after stopping cerazette. A happy surprise in my case, I was wondering when I would get a period then thought I better test... I'm 38 weeks now!
