Did your baby have a pattern of movement?

Hiya ladies!
I am 29 weeks on Friday, first baby - so very excited!
I went to my normal MW appointment last week and she said to keep an eye on the pattern of movement, but honestly, she has no pattern as such. She kind of just moves when she wants to! I was wondering if this was the same for your babies?

Hi !

Random but seemed like every 3 hrs or so, lively in evenings but maybe you just notice this more because you're sat down relaxing. This happen for a while then as bigger whenever it needed more room.

Congrats btw! Flowers

I wasn't told to keep an eye on pattern, just thats I have an instinct that its moving as much.

I haven't found a pattern. I guess she's more active in the evening but that may just be because that's when I'm less busy. I've had a lot of medical appointments and am always asked about movements and explain that she moves but I don't notice a pattern - no one has showed any concern about this.

30 weeks and I don't have a pattern either, don't think I did with my first. Also seems to have quiet days and active days

I'm earlier on, only 21 weeks but I've been feeling movement for quite a few weeks. He seems to have quiet days and active days, but there is some everyday. Like others evening is the most active time. I can feel him wriggling away as I type!

39 weeks and no regular pattern! My placenta is at the front so initially I was told by my Mw that this may make it more difficult for me to feel movements. After about 34weeks the movements became much more forceful. I would say that a slight pattern has emerged over the last 3weeks, when I get into bed he tends to have a wiggle.

I'm only 9 weeks so no movement yet. I do have a 2 year old DS though who never had a pattern of movement, he just moved when he wanted. He still doesn't really like having a particular routine, I think it was just his personality showing even that early!

I had no pattern, my DD was just a very active baby, so if I had an hour or mote of quiet then that was odd for her, apart from during the night, she was always quiet whilst I attempted to sleep.

I'm 24w today and no pattern of movement, although I'm very early to be getting them (apparently). He's actually quite a quiet baby so far, I've felt some very strong kicks but the majority of the time he's pretty chilled!

I'm 27 weeks with second baby and this one has a definitely pattern of movement. Usually quite quiet in the mornings then wriggling and kicking like a good 'un all afternoon. Settles down around 6 ish then starts up again around 8 and carries on until I go to bed around 10.30. Last night was the first night the wriggling was uncomfortable so it took me a while to get off to sleep. Have had some pretty hefty kicks in the last day or so as well. DS was a wriggler and everything is still 100mph now he's 5!

Ds (my first) had a really clear pattern and scared the life out of me one day when he deviated from it. Dd had no pattern at all.

Someone recommended an app called 'Sleep Tracker'. Costs less than a quid, and you just tap it when you get a movement. It then shows you a clock and when baby is active. It can help you notice a pattern even if you don't think there is one. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and baby is generally active in the afternoon and through the night but not so much in the morning. Knowing that means I don't freak out as much if I don't feel him in the morning.

The only pattern I've had both times is that they spring into action the moment I sit down. They have also given a bit of extra action if I eat or drink anything, which I assume is either the temperature of the food, or the gurgling my stomach makes as it gets to work! I'm not sure if my moving around rocks them to sleep, or I just can't feel the movement when I'm up and doing. Both have tended to 'jump' when I've started power tools up when working in later pregnancy too (don't blame them!) Blush I've always felt bad about the last one but there's not much I can do unless I give up work earlier, but I figure all that fluid around them must dampen the noise considerably.

My LO developed a pattern at 34 weeks. I went many times with what I thought was reduced movements. Mine was 8am and 8pm and not the 3hrs everyone says about. DC is very active now she is here but only when she isn't being lazy (which is often). She is good at sleeping which I think correlates to how she was when I was pregnant

My DD had no pattern, although was also quite active so if I didn't feel movement for an hour or so I'd lie down and prod my tummy Grin maybe that's why she doesn't sleep long now... She's used to being prodded awake!!! ;)
