early pregnancy and always hungry.

I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant and feel like I'm constantly starving. I've eaten lunch but then thinking about the next thing I can eat.

This is my 3rd pregnancy but don't remember feeling like this before.

Any one else the same?

That was one of the signs that made us realise (albeit late) that I was pregnant, about 9 weeks as it turned out. Dh suggested it as I was eating constantly and loads more than normal Blush

Ooh, I remember feeling that at around the same stage with my first! I used to leave the office to buy lunch, and I'd have to buy an extra sandwich to eat on the 5 minute walk back, because I couldn't wait that long.

It was followed by a stage where I knew I needed to eat, but absolutely nothing appealed - I didn't feel sick, I just didn't fancy anything. Then I used to spend my lunch hour wandering round sainsburys and sighing a lot.

Im glad that it's not only me ha.

I really don't want to put on to much weight , I put on weight really quickly as I've been following slimming world for a year and a half.

Yup I had that. Thankfully the feeling passed around 10-11 weeks as it was getting a bit ridiculous!

I had that to begin with. Suddenly started to take a proper lunch with me to work (I used to take an apple and that was fine), including several things I could eat throughout the morning as snacks.
I'm 12 weeks now and don't really feel like that anymore. I didn't have any proper cravings or dislikes of food at any point, though. I'm not keen on sweets at the moment (esp. chocolate) but I wasn't a great lover of sweet stuff before the pregnancy, either. I do love baby tomatoes...and watermelon. Grin

Yes I was exactly the same. I'd eat constantly at my desk, a whole lunch plus snacks and then I would have my actual lunch!

When I told my co worker I was pregnant she said it finally makes sense why you're always munching!

Just go with it!

I have been absolutely constantly hungry throughout (currently 27weeks). I've just gone with it and eaten as much as I need. As I don't feel I've particularly piled on extra weight beyond what you'd expect for the bump and a bit extra, I'm assuming the hunger is a genuine need for extra nutrients and calories. (Although, I've only been weighed once so for all I know I've put on tons and am in denial!)

3rd pregnancy here too but had the hungry thing every time pretty much from conception!!!
I'm starving constantly and if I too long I start to be queasy... have a pack of digestive biscuits on me at all times at the mo!!!
Tho I don't tend to be hungry for 'crap' mostly anything fresh tasting or juicy....

I'm always hungry anyway Wink but yes more so in pregnancy definitely, and now I have an extremely hungry 4 month old dd and now eating half of what I did in pregnancy- I blame her for my huge weight gainWinkGrin

I had this up till about 20 weeks I felt like I would die if I didn't eat. I'm a teacher and I would be sneaking crisp in my stock cupboard. Refused to check how much weight I had put on until today about 1 and a half stone (26 weeks) gutted but c'est la vie I suppose.

I am 6-7 weeks and I'm in a total hunger ALL THE TIME. it's ridiculous. I woke up at 1pm at night and felt very nauseous and hungry and couldn't absolutely find anything that I fancied to eat! I was miserable all night. Finally I run to the shop this morning and bought lots of food. Crazy. I never eat big breakfasts, never wake up at night hungry. It's my second pregnancy but my first wasn't like this. The nausea is even worse. I am terrified.

I was ravenous from about 6 weeks till 10/11 weeks. I put on a shedload of bloat and water weight and was mortified when the midwife initially weighed me.

I'm now 14+5 and am eating much more normally for me. I'm not grazing in the evening anymore and I don't wake up wanting to roast an entire buffalo to snack on. I've not put on any more weight since 11 week booking appt and I've lost most of the bloat/water.

My DFriend and I are both PG with our DC1. She's 12 weeks and has been eating for England. The girl is STARVING.
I am 9 weeks and although not sick, entirely disinterested in food. Am planning meals to ensure I eat a decent balance but have no overwhelming urge to eat.

She's hoping that crazy hunger calms down in her second trimester and I'm hoping that I get some. I've lost weight ffs (although that may be because I've stopped drinking and a lot of my excess cal seem to have been wine based Blush)

Every pregnancy is different. If you're craving something specific then it's usually your body's way of telling you you're lacking something. I wanted fish for a few days. Just fish. I'm guessing i needed whatever my body gets from fish and I was so excited to actually want to eat that I had a great time eating it!!! And now... Nothing.

I'm the same! With DD I felt queasy all the time, didn't want to eat anything, and lost almost a stone in the first trimester.

This time round, I still feel queasy but I just want to eat all the time. Sort of like when you're hungover and you just need carbs and cold fizzy drinks. I'm just going with it for now!

Report
soundsystem · 30/05/2016 14:59

SpaceDinosaur haha yeah that's why I'm not so bothered about eating more, because I think it's balanced out by all the wine calories I'm not having!

Maybebabybee · 30/05/2016 14:59

I felt like that throughout my entire pregnancy despite feeling sick at the same time. Eating was the only thing that helped the sickness. Hence my 4st weight gain Confused

Baby is 11 weeks now though and I've lost 3st of it so it could be worse.
