can anyone help? pregnant? but have AF

Ok so my dilemma continues.......

You know when you 'just know'

  • excessive tiredness
  • Boobs getting more painful
  • maybe implant feeling twinges.
  • headache, which I never ever get
  • feeling that j could vomit

Well I tested again today even though I am on day 4 of my period, this came up.
This happened for me the 2nd time I got pregnant too.... I had a period and just kind of knew.

I should note that because I have been doing a lot more strenuous and physical excercise lately, that my cycles have shortened from 28 days to 23/24 days, but that's pretty normal for me once I really get into it. So this month was a 24 day cycle before I got my period this Tuesday. Today would be CD27 if I hadn't have got AF for example.

I'm worried because second time I got pregnant this happened, I had a period and a week later kind of just knew something wasn't right, took a test and I was pregnant, but a week after that I started bleeding again (more brown/prune like blood) and went to the hospital to find out it was ectopic.

I hope this one is a real one and I really hope I'm 3rd time lucky.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this??? Help!!! Xx

I hate to say this but this is what happened to me with my ectopic. Everyone told me that is was most likely a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage but I kind of knew I was still pregnant still.

I really hope this is not the case for you and sorry I can't share a positive story.

That said, some people do bleed throughout pregnancy...

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you xx

hm, well you've had a previous ectopic, so you do need to get checked. Your ectopic story is a lot like mine, and bleed -followed-by-BFP stories always ring alarm bells for me.

Having said that, some women do bleed in pregnancy and all is well. I hope this is one of those.

I hope all is well and you really should get checked out but I did have periods right when I was very early pg. Both times they were lighter but still v much a period. I found out I was pg about a week later both times. Good luck x

Girls, I really appreciate all your comments and advice.
Tests are stronger this morning and I'm still bleeding so we've come straight to the hospital and am awaiting the doctor.

I'm realistic that it's not hopeful, but I just want to know now so I can move on and drink a few glasses of prosecco this evening to take the disappointment away.

Have any of going ladies had repeat ectopics? X

I did, yes. It was because the first was treated with methotrexate and then the second happened in the damaged tube. After that I had the tube removed and had a normal pregnancy a few months later. Fingers crossed for you. It will be ok in the end.

This happened to me and it was a very early miscarriage / chemical pregnancy... I have heard of others having better news though?

This happened to me too in January. Unfortunately the bleeding continued and the test turned negative about 10 days later.
Hope you're doing ok.

Girls I cannot thank you enough for sharing your stories and also the support. It really means so much to me.

So hospital was brilliant. I saw a Gynae Dr and the Consultant in charge and they done two internal scans, bloods etc.

I'm pregnant in some form and they may have located a small sack at the bottom of the uterus, which may be mid miscarriage, may not be a sac and just some scarring or may be a sac which develops in time.
It's still super early and whilst they couldn't yet rule out a repeat ectopic, they can't see one in the tubes and are sure everything is working properly.

So this could go either way really and I need to go back for bloods and monitoring this week and see my normal Gynae too as they think my short cycles could be the problem and some progesterone may help.

Have any of you lovely ladies carried to term with a egg that implanted very low in the uterus?

Thanks so much again for your kind words and thoughts x

Hi lovely ladies,
Just to update you that the bloods and scan with the hospital went well yesterday.

The HCG had quadrupled and whilst it's too low to see a proper sac, I'm back there again next Wednesday for another scan and bloods at which point if it's progressing as it should and hopefully in the correct place, I'll know which way this is going because they will be able to see something then by their calculations.

The doctor and a nurse separately told me today that it's not out of the question to have what is practically a full on period at the same time it should arrive and to carry to term.
Whilst they said they couldn't say which way this will go yet, they said to remain positive.

In the meantime I'm just going to try and carry on as normal.

Hope, pray and dance for me and my baby monkey girls and thanks for all your really lovely words x
