Hi,

I am 28+3 weeks. My bump measured small at my 25 week midwife appointment so she sent me for a growth scan. At the growth scan they also said the baby was measuring small so booked me an appointment at the fetal medicine unit for further scan. I have this scan on Thursday. In the meantime i had my 28 week midwife appointment and once again she measured my bump and she said i am measuring exactly the same as i was at 25 weeks :( She would usually book me in for another scan but because i already have my one on thursday hasn't. I know its only 2 days but now i am really panicking and upset. She was talking to me about things they will check on thursday and mentioned something about possible early induction.

Just wondered if anyone has had any similar situations or if anyone could put my mind at rest.

Also just to add i have always been naturally really slim so hoping this has something to do with my small bump.

Thanks
D

Ask hq to get this thread moved to pregnancy section. You might get more advice over there. I can't offer you any advice but good luck at your scan . All I know is that fundal measurements are not very accurate and having a small / large bump doesn't always indicate size of the baby. Good luck. I'm 23 weeks so understand your concerns .

I measured small throughout my pregnancies but both babies were fine size wise.

Try not to worry too much and remember scans can be a little off.

I measured snall throughout my pregnancy. Baby atopped growing at 37 weeks and I was induced at 39. DD born perfectly healthy at 5lb 5oz, so they were right - she was small on the 0.4th cebtile. She's now 2 years and 10 months and on the 91st centile for height and weight and is perfectly normal (albiet slightly chunky Smile). Trust your midwife/hospital. If they are worried after the scan, they will continue to do growth scans. Different midwifes can also measure differently. At 39 weeks I was measured by 3 different midwife/doctors. One measured me at 37 weeks, one at 36 weeks and one at 34 weeks.

All of my bubbas measured small and my biggest was 6lb 6oz full term and smallest was 5lb 2oz full term.
All are on low percentiles. But I'm not massive and neither is my DH !!!
