Addicted to bottled water? Anything cheaper?

I'm 24/25 weeks and all the way through I've only been able to stomach bottled water (mainly Evian) as tap water tastes like chlorine! I've tried a Britta filter but that still tastes bad. Is it just me? Any good filter recommendations. X

Get bottled water in Home Bargains for about 20p a bottle, or add something to the tap water to disguise the chlorine taste eg lemon slice and ice.

I could only drink fizzy water when pg, but drank the value stuff that's about 20p for 2 litres.

DS is 6 and it's only this year that I've been able to drink ordinary tap water. Sorry.

Warm water with lemon juice was fine, though.

Does it need to be evian? Lidl bottled water is 89p for six 500ml bottles if it's any kind of bottled water you can tolerate.

Costco is ridiculously cheap for bottle water. 40 500ml bottles for about £3.50.

Maybe I need to go water shopping. Out of curiosity, has anyone else had this issue while pregnant? X

Jasper - misread your message. So your taste buds stayed fussy for 6 years. Will have to get some Lemon!

Yes I had the same problem. It went quite quickly Smile

I had it... And still have to drink tap water now whilst holding my nose!! I found adding a tiny bit of squash helped even tho I never previously drank squash, or if I could be bothered then a little bit of chopped up fruit to the water. It's very odd...

Yeah, I had the same thing. And it had to be ice cold... Fussy much! I found adding cucumber and mint to tap water helped. Or lemon, lime etc disguised it enough. It stopped once dd was born.

Might be a silly question but have you tried putting the Brita filter into the fridge? Generally I find cold water doesn't have that choline taste

Yep I totally understand, I was filling bottles or a jug at home hoping it would be fine when I put it in the fridge but no luck, the after taste made me feel sick, bought by Brita and it tasted odd, but I've stuck with and as long as its really cold I'm ok.... Would much rather bottled water though, I've been buying supermarket own brands

The filter water at work is amazing and that's super-cold. Might try the fridge thing. I'm drinking 2 litres of Evian a day at the moment when I'm not at work. Our tap water is nice here - never minded it before.

Lemon water has been mine fot about 16 weeks. ...starting to be able to drink other things now at 37weeks but at its peak I'd always have to have a bottle in my bag!

Yes, I had this! Unfortunately it had to be Evian - I tried other types but they made me sick. I had hyperemesis though.

Aldi bottled water is cheap. Also like lime in tap water. I buy that from Aldi too in the home baking section or jig lime equivalent in sainsbos.

I prefer fridge cold bottles water but only out of laziness, grab it as I'm going out.

I hate the taste of our tap water and only drink it in squash. Otherwise I drink Aldi bottled water which I think is about 25p/2L bottle?

I started doing that when pregnant. Some tap water is just horrid. Ours is limey and chloriney.

Yep, we've luckily got a filter in our fridge so I have filtered cold water on demand

Fizzy water has always been my addiction when pregnant, and started desperately wanting Pelligrino the last few days (I should have known BFP this morning!)

I switch it with tesco value - 15p I think for 2 litres which I mix with Lime, and LOADS of ice. That and caffeine free Diet Pepsi

I get through bags and bags of ice, need everything Ice cold :)

I can't drink tap water at all, pregnant or not. It stinks of bleach to me!

Yep, Brita jug in the fridge. It makes all the difference to the taste (and your pocket).
