Lovely you are 26 8yrs past being an adult they are not only judging you but your first dc
I think how bloody dare they, your choices are your own to make and anyone who is not able to support you in those don't deserve a say, or a seat at that table.

If you need to formally tell them then breezely tell them in public where they are least able to make a scene, followed up by if you can't support me then low contact is fine with you.

No one should have to walk on egg shells to appease family, and second guess their own life choices,
Bollox to that

Oh and huge congrats on your pregnancy ThanksChocolate

You dont have to tell them. I have had two unplanned pregnancies that werent well received by my parents. Tbh their reactions ruined both my pregnancies because i spent the whole time feeling guilty. I decided after ds2 that if i was to become pregnant again i wasnt letting anyone ruin it and if i thought anyone would react negatively then they didnt deserve to be told my good news. Of course they will find out eventually but you are under no obligation to listen to anything they have to say about it.

Do you need to tell them at all? When I was 3 months we had what I thought would be a nice meal with my dh family and we told them our happy news. I was expecting my 2nd. And we got a grunt from mil and oh I thought you were joking from bil. I really wish we hadn't bothered

I'm 25 and pregnant, my parents dont know I'm 20 weeks now. I'm very close to them both, but I know what reaction I will get, mum just gets abit upset and thinks I'm not going to continue doing everything I'm doing (studying and going to uni) but she does have a point because this is my 5th baby. But I feel I'm a grown woman, I look after my children, I'm still continuing to do well with my studies, I have a uni offer in place and I have just got another job to put me on in the meantime.

I agree you don't have to tell them if you think it will dampen the excitement you have. It's your life and your choice.

Congratulations :)
