Early Scan Results

Hello! New member, long time lurker.
The first day of my last period was the 16th Feb. I got my BFP on good Friday following a week long nausea spell that I couldn't explain. Fiancé and I over the moon.
Started bleeding a little brown blood yesterday, due to MC a few years ago rushed in mad panic to A&E to get checked. Bloods and urine done, confirmed still pregnant but waiting for hormone levels to come back.
Internal scan done after ultrasound couldn't pick anything up - they found one yolk sac (possibly two) and no fetel pole. They did not seem overly concerned and said that it was totally normal that nothing could be seen this early, and that the yolk sac was healthy. They have booked me in for another scan tomorrow which leaves me concerned as it doesn't seem like much time (two days) for anything to have happened.
Can anyone please explain what is going on and what I can expect? This is a dearly wanted baby by myself and fiancé and we are both just desperate for reassurance - or to know that it's not our time.

Any advice would be appreciated as this is all unknown to me.

I'm sorry I don't have much advice to offer but did not want to just read and not comment. People can get some bleeding in the start and then go on to a have a healthy baby, if the hospital was not that worried then you must try to relax. At least they are getting you back to have another check. Good luck. x

Sorry for late reply, saw this this morning and then got distracted! Firstly I'm sorry you're going through this uncertainty - not knowing one way or another is so hard. Have you recently come off birth control? Are your cycles usually regular? I only ask as by your LMP you should be about 8w pg by now and would expect to see more than you did, which isn't a great sign tbh. But equally, going by when you got your BFP, it's perfectly possible that you conceived later and are only about 5-6 weeks, in which case what you saw would match your dates.
Ultimately there's no way of knowing one way or another I'm afraid, as crappy as that is. The waiting is truly horrible (I've been in your position multiple times, with good and bad outcomes). Brown blood isn't necessarily a cause for concern - I've had it with my 2 successful pregnancies, as do many many women. It sounds like things have every chance of being fine. Hopefully the scan tomorrow makes things a little clearer. Do come back and let us know how you get on Flowers

I had spotting this early in two of my pregnancies one was an ectopic and the other is going to be born next Wednesday. Unfortunately it's a waiting game if you was having an ectopic it would have been picked up on your scan. Have they offered you another scan. The first 12 week of this pregnancy I was sure it was going to end in miscarriage the only way I coped was to take one day at a time. Good luck I hope everything turns out ok for you.

I haven't got much to tell you I'm afraid, only that I had spotting of dark brown blood around 6 weeks I think.. We had a scan at 8 weeks and found out we had a healthy baby but has also lost a twin. There was one empty sac, one with a baby in! The rate of growth is stupendous during very early pregnancy. How many weeks are you based on your dates? Did they do an internal acan?

The bleeding turned red and was followed with awful cramps. TMI but I passed some tissue. They believe I have now miscarried.
We have to go for a scan today to confirm. Thank you for your comments, I am utterly utterly devastated as is fiancé. We were so hopeful after they confirmed all was totally well on Monday night, and now it's over and I can't even begin to imagine picking myself up again after this.

Oh Lottie, sorry to read this. It's a hard, horrible thing to go through. I know it doesn't feel like it right now, but you will find a new normal, and be happy again. And you might not want to think about it just yet, but you have every chance of a healthy pregnancy and baby next time. The miscarriage/pregnancy loss board on here (under 'Body and Soul') is very very good, and offers lots of support if you need it. Flowers and Chocolate to you.
