heavy bleeding w/ clots

So last Thursday I went up the hospital because I had light bleeding (I've had and ectopic pregnancy and a missed misscarriage before). I had a scan which showed 4 weeks, just a sac no embryo and advised to return back in 2 weeks but to expect the worse.

I started bleeding again yesterday, heavy soaking through a thick tena ladies in a hour and tr cramps were unbearable. My other half demanded I went back up hospital. So we did, obviously expecting the worse waiting for them to confirm a misscarriage only to have a scan that showed a embryo (no heartbeat, but advised there wouldn't be one yet) and my cervix closed which shows no sign of a misscarriage. Sent away and asked to return in a weeks time for another scan to confirm a heart beat. I'm still bleeding and getting cramps nowhere near as bad as yesterday...

Had this happened to anyone before?

What is causing the bleeding?

Hi I had a subchorionic hematoma in my first pregnancy which meant I bleed for about three weeks. They could see this on the scan at 6+3 and when they rescanned me at 9+3 the hematoma had gone and the bleeding stopped.

I didn't have any cramps with the bleeding though and sadly I subsequently miscarried later due to an unrelated issue.

I hope it isn't a miscarriage and you are doing OK. It is a very scary.

Take care Flowers

I've finally stopped bleeding and cramping. Just got that niggly ache I had before. Which is a good sign I suppose. All will be reviewed Friday when I go for my next scan.

Fingers crossed x

Hello, just joining the thread as I've been having heavy bleeding and cramping since Saturday. I am 8wks and had just had a scan (fine) on Friday, so it's come as a shock. GP has referred me for a scan tomorrow. I can't think of anything else at the moment, at first the pregnancy had shocked me (had been ttc for over 3 years; second child) but we were delighted. I am really, really sad, and worried that if I miscarried, how am I going to grieve, not knowing if it was a boy or a girl (sounds stupid). And for not wanting to tell most people (too early etc) it feels like we are in a lonely place. Fingers crossed a miracle happens for us.

FutureMum -
The worse thing to do is to worry or be sad take it in your stride. I have. I've missed carried before and it isn't nice, it is upsetting. But you can always try again.

Hope everything is okay. Keep me updated 😙

I had some bleeding on friday and went for a scan today at what I thought was 8 weeks. It appears my measurements would suggest I am only 5 weeks. I saw the gestational sac and fetal pole but no yolk sac. I have to go back in a weeks time to see how things have developed. It could be that I am only 5 weeks or things have not progressed as expected.

Should I be concerned. The is my first pregnancy.

Metromad59- it can be possible so try to stay positive sweetheart. Worrying will only make things worse. My scan is tomorrow to confirm everything just like you sweetheart. I'm laying in bed counting down the hours. I've done so well not to worry but now I just can't sleep. Please keep me updated with your situation and hopefully tomorrow I will have some good news to keep you going xx

I hope all goes well. Keep me updated.
I did have a bleed the beginning of February also which they said could have been a miscarriage and I fell pregnant straight away. My periods were so irregular so very hard to tell.

I could be either as I said hopefully I can't give you something optimistic. I've had 3 pregnancy, one ectopic (loosing a tube), one missed misscarriage and now this. Fingers cross third time lucky. Still haven't stopped bleeding though. 3 hours and counting!!!
