So my new years resolution was to quit smoking and since January I have given up smoking tobacco and been vaping, but i did read that vaping can also be dangerous to a baby.

What are your thoughts on it? Someone suggested no-nicotine liquids but you never can be sure, so maybe I should try to stop using the vape all together?

I've just been through the exact same issue. My midwife has ruled it out and then there is this recent study:

It's not the nicotine that's the problem - it's the other stuff in there.

I've got a nicorette inhalator - it tastes like shit and I'm utterly miserable but hey...

I am vaping on and off with patches and gum. I was assured by the smoking cessation lady at the prenatal clinic that the nhs considers the ingredients in it safe. Apparently they considering making them available on the nhs. I wasn't convinced but asked several times and in the end was assured and decided to vape at times. After all it's the carbon monoxide which is the biggest threat when smoking along with the other nasty chemicals. I would have struggled to stop smoking if it wasn't for knowing the vapouriser is on hand if need be. I was told not to use a cheap one though and from a reputable company.

Mines is jacvapour. It cost me about 50 quid to start up ( buying the vapouriser and the liquid). She advised me to use one in the £20 up range. I'm not using mine too much either ( just incase ) .. But it just eases that hand to mouth habit . Yea she said it was okay cos the e liquid has only 4 known safe ingredients opposed to the hundred nasties fags have . And it's defo not nicotine that's the worry for baby .. It's the carbon monoxide.
