Pregnancy

so this morning I did a pregnancy test. Not sure when AF due, just felt like it

It was quite cold so I went back to bed for 3 mins to warm up and left the test in the bathroom.

DP said, I will go and read it for you. He came back and said. Its negative, only 1 line. Well, actually there is a second one but its only faint.....................................

He says he has never seen me move so fast in my entire life. Went to the bathroom and there it was!! a faint positive.

So got a clear blue pregnancy test today and managed not to pee for 4 hours, did the test again, and it was a BFP!!!!!!!!!! Oh My GOD!!

p.s. the fact that I had two neurophen last night isn't going to have hurt it, is it?

Thank you, it was funny because I was sure I wasn't and then when DP said it was negative I just expected that and then he comes out with, well, there is a second line but its only faint. I just couldn't belive it!!

That you just had a feeling is a weirdy one isn't it?? had it with all 3 of my pgs and found out before af was due all 3 times also.

no no ibroprofen aka nurofen is mostly dodgy in the third trimester but as of now should be avoided just to be safe.

some new research suggests there can be no safe amount of alcohol in pregnancy.......some women comfortable with the odd glass , some don;t drink until the second trimester.....

it is kind of up to you.......what you feel comfortable with, binge drinking certainly has consequences for the foetus, the jury is sort of out on the odd drink in pregnancy....

sorry, that doens;t really help! i was 10 weeks pregnant over xmas when pregnant with dd and did have a glass of champagne with dinner..

Lulumama, my instinct is to stop completely, at least for the first trimester, and then have a very, very occasional drink in the second and third. But DP was saying half a glass to celebrate won't hurt the baby! Afterall I was drinking last night, before I found out!

also true ! do what you feel is right for you! and if you are going to have a drink for the sake of it,, not much point!

why not go and buy a big bottle of something nice and non alcoholic, and enjoy that instead! there are some lovely non alcoholic fizzy wine substitutes around!

Lulumama, good idea, I will do that!! This is a very much wanted baby, so exited about it. I was drinking previously as I didn't know I was pregnant, but now I know it is time to stop.

PS. The drinking earlier this month won't have had any effect will it?

no, don;t worry...lots of women conceive unexpectedly, when not drinking / eating the right stuff or on meds...

not too late to start with the folic acid tablets either !

relax, enjoy and have a happy & healthy pregnancy...

thank you very much. Am on folic acid already and intend to do everything I can as well as I can!!! So exited, can't stop grinning, and then being scared and then grinning again. DP who is also very exited is sitting next to me right now, critising my spelling!!

MrsBadger, I'm afraid I have used one of those due date websites, and it says I am due in Mid sept!! will have to start a shinny new due in September thread, unless I can find one already started.
