I'm 28 weeks and just started suffering awfully with indigestion.

I'm swigging gaviscon as much as I can but does anyone have any other tips/good foods to eat/avoid?

Just drunk a glass of milk and planning to try smaller more regular meals tomorrow rather than 3 larger meals. Just want to sleep comfortably tonight....

I just ate little and often and avoided greasy or rich foods, I also lived on a box of orange Rennie's a week..

I'm 29 weeks and heartburn started last week. Gaviscon and Zantac are saviours.

I wake up with indigestion so unfortunately there's nothing I can recommend but gaviscon. Sad

If it gets worse or if eating well + gaviscon aren't working for you, speak to your gp and you might be able to try different medication - I was on omeprazole from about 28 weeks and it was life changing.

It's terrible isn't it, my heartburn started a week ago and I'm only 18 weeks tomorrow! I have a small bowl of porridge made with milk every day for breakfast and even that gives me heartburn. Nothing helps except gaviscon and I hate it but needs must!

Only gaviscon worked for me as well I'm afraid as my GP wouldn't prescribe ranitidine/zantac. I only got it at night so not eating too late and nothing too spicy or greasy for tea helped.

Try not to eat too late in the evening if you find it's bad during the night, mine has been terrible at night. I drink a couple of glasses of milk during the day and natural yogurt seems to calm it too. Also avoiding spicy food as its just not worth it.

My friend used to swear by love heart sweets, not tried it myself though

Thanks all. I do eat pretty early as I tend to eat with DS between 5-6pm. I seemed to avoid it today by having a larger meal at lunch and jacket potato and salad for dinner....but then I ruined it as DH bought some hazelnut dark choc and now I have heartburn.

Will try the love hearts though. I can see how that might work as they have the same chalky texture as gaviscon. But much nicer.

I used to lie on my back with my knees bent and feet still flat on the floor, if that makes sense.

Don't know why but it did seem to ease things although DH didn't find the constant burping very attractive
