This sounds truley awful but did anyone else feel really disappointed after their 4d scan?

I had two on different days to get a good pic, both looked horrendous and no clear views of face. What we did see looked nothing like a baby should!! Blush

Did anyone else have awful scans? I'm paranoid there is something wrong now and it's going to be a long wait, wish I had not bothered Confused

how far along were you at the point of your 4d scan?

i booked one originally for the end of april (which would make me 32 weeks) but they phoned and said its far to late to get a decent viewing as baby will be too big and if head down obstruct view of face. they recommended anything between 26 and 28 weeks. maximum 30

I am 27+3.

Scanner said everything should be perfect to get a good picture as I am slim and baby has plenty of fluid but position wise he was all wrong and not cooperating. It has just worried me the baby has a deformed face as we saw glimpses and it didn't look like a baby should, which I know is rediculous but what we did see did not look right HmmBlush

Obviously I am over the moon we are having a healthy baby but I am really dissapointed that this has put new worries into my head, I wish I had not bothered at all but I thought it would be a nice experience...

Our first scan was like that. I think it's the luck of the game unfortunately. Our 12 week scan was terrible the sonographer really worried us because he couldn't get a clear picture of the baby. Second scan was completely different. Sorry you didn't have a great time xxx

I don't particularly like them but have booked it so the grandparents can come and have a look

Annoyingly MIL booked and paid for this one for us as she was desperate to see his face and couldn't wait until he was born. He has other ideas Grin

You need to remember that scans will give a more distorted image, it's not like a proper camera. I didn't get a 4d scan as personally they freak me out and to me a baby's face looks kind of melted. Please don't worry.

I had one of these and the 4d was pants but they did HD live there which was amazing and looked less like a potato than a baby.

The HD ones also look exactly like my son now he's born you can see his chubby cheeks and smushy little nose
