Sorry - moany post I'm afraid. Have posted this on my usual Ante-Natal thread but it is very quiet this morning and I could really do with some advice.

Am 37 weeks on Sun and feel so ill (have done for the past week). So many people keep saying it could be pre-labour but I don't want to get my hopes up so thought I would ask your opinions.

Feel really pre-menstrual, nauseous, bowel cramps (like diahorrea but not getting any), generally feel really really teary, getting loads of BHs and twinges.

I know that no one can say for definate but I just didn't expect to feel this way at this point. I feel like I am living on tenterhooks wondering whether anything will happen.

MW said on Weds I was 1/5 engaged (well, 4/5 in relation to brim which amounts to same thing) so could I go into labour or is baby still to high????

Woke up suddenly last night at 1am feeling REALLY sick so got out of bed and paced in the bathroom for 10 mins, took some Rennies and it went away. Really annoyed with DH though as at night, he is totally disinterested and just sleeps through everything - he has done this on a couple of occasions when, TBH, I could have done with him awake with me.

Sorry to moan. Any opinions/advice gratefully recieved.

ok

head being engaged does not necessarily mean labour is imminent....sorry......babies can be partially engaged for a numbner of weeks...and babies can bob in and out of the pelvis for a bit

also, they way you are feeling is perfectly normal...you are tired, uncomfortable, weary, and hormonal......you cna;t sleep well, can;t get comfy, don't feel well...

but that is part and parcel of being heavily pregnant !!!

ok...baby could come now, or at 40 weeks..no-one really knows, they come when they are ready

if this is your first, get your feet up and relaaaaaax, as once baby is here, you will be busy and you need to prepare for labour too !

eat and drink lightly and nutritiously, sitting on a gym ball can help nestle baby down into the pelvis, have a lovely bath, with candles and some herb tea, and relax

visualise baby moving down into the pelvis and down ready to be born.all calm and relaxed....

don;t bother waking DH! make the best of peace and quiet in the night..read a book, watch some crappy TV...i used to wander round the house in the dead of night, all quiet and dark, read a bit, have a drink and enjoy the solitude...

make it a positive rather than a negative, IFYSWIM!
