when is it normal to see HB on early scan?

I'm currently 5+5 and really want to get an early reassurance scan (privately) as it really put my mind at rest with DD

DD is with her nana next Saturday so was thinking it'd be a good opportunity for DH and I to go as we wouldn't have to take her with us...by then I would be 6+5-is it likely we would see a heartbeat by then?

I was 6+4 with DD but don't know if we were just lucky. Will obv defeat the point if we go too early and I end up fretting! Thanks everyone x

I saw one at 7+2-I think it varies though and when I went for my 12 week scan they put me 4 days further on than I thought.

NHS usually say 7 weeks I think, but AFAIK you should be able to see it at about 6.

I would wait till 7 weeks op. That's when my doctor called me in to do it.

I had one at 6 weeks in my last pregnancy at EPU and saw a heartbeat but the place I'm having an early scan this time recommends from 7 weeks.

I went for an early scan on the has as I had bleeding very early on.
At 5+5 I saw the sac and yolk sac ( no baby yet )
At 6+6 I had to return and I saw the foetal pole and heartbeat then.

7 weeks if certain of dates. If uncertain obviously a little longer. You can get blood tests done earlier than 7 weeks which are very reassuring, hcg should double in 24hours.

With both of my boys I saw HB at first scans at 5+6.

DS1 was beating fast and very strong
DS2 was a little slower and probably only just started beating in the last few hours before we saw it.
I would say at 6+ weeks if you're certain of dates.

I've had early scans at 6 + 4, 7, 7 +1 and 7 weeks, saw hb at all of them except the 7+1 as I'd miscarried (had started bleeding so was expecting it).

I would have thought 6+5 would be okay but if you can hang on for a few more days you'd be in pretty safe territory.

I had one at 6+2 and saw Hb with internal scan. I think 6+5 would be fine if you are sure of your dates

Thanks everyone! I am pretty sure of my dates-last LMP was 23 Dec so would be further along by those dates but I know when I ovulated.

Currently thinking I will go for it as will be so much easier without DD there... but guess I will need to be prepared to shell out for another scan the next week/to endure a week of anxiety x
