Come on ladies, how are you feeling?

Incredibly tired Confused at 40+4. And yes everyone can say with a newborn it is far more tiring but frankly starting off exhausted is not going to make the newborn stage any easier. I had been drinking RLT since 32 weeks and eating at least 6 dates a day, but as of yesterday I gave it all up because I can no longer be bothered with it. How are you feeling?

MaisieDotes · 22/01/2016 14:46

Not overdue yet, only 39+2 so I can't join your club but bee what's this about dates?

I knew about pineapple but never heard about dates?

I was induced with my first child (he was born 13 days overdue after 2 day slow induction!). Previous to the induction I ate loads of pineapple, drunk loads of raspberry leaf tea, kept really active, had two sessions of acupuncture to bring things along, spent endless hours bouncing on my gym ball...Needless to say it made absolutely no impact. I'm 39+3 with my second today and I am doing bugger all as to be honest I just don't see the point :p

BeeMyBaby · 22/01/2016 14:59

Maisie it's meant to reduce labour time and reduce the likelihood of needing an induction. However since I had dd1 spontaneously at 37 weeks and Dd2 after a sweep at 40+1, I'm feeling considerably worse off this time after 2 sweeps and an induction booked for next Thursday.

Hi all, glad to have some company in the overdue hell!

I am 40+9 with DC 2. DD was 40+17, induction from 40+13 (I have the gestation period of an elephant it seems, so it took a while!)

Last time I did curry, ball bouncing, walking, pineapple. Didn't help. This time I'm focusing on optimal fetal positioning and walking. It has helped as baby in good position.

Am tired, moany and sleepy today. Made DH stay off work to wrangle DD (2).

Hope we get some babies on here super soon!

Oh and I have reflexology booked for tomorrow. And induction booked for 40+14 (Weds) but really really want to start naturally this time.

Oh ok, thanks bee. I might get some then.

I've had two long labours before now so I'd love a quick one this time!

Maisie I've been chowing on dates for weeks now, hehe!

Just the one study at the moment (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21280989) but I really like dates anyway and are good sugar boost when you don't feel you have enough room to eat.

Wow blerg that's a crazy long time to go over!! I'm not feeling too frustrated as yet - lucky enough to have quite a small bump so I can still move/bend etc. I think by the time this weekend is over I'll be a little more on edge though! Not seeing MW again until Tuesday.

Mrs yes I am a bit of a freak! I am quite impatient but trying not to symptom spot because stuff starts and stops all the time! You sound admirably calm Smile

Morning all, I'm 40+3 today and feeling incredibly impatient! Went to 40+11 with DS so expecting to do the same with DD. Other than being painfully low in my pelvis she's showing no signs of arriving any time soon. These days really are the longest!

Morning! Welcoming myself to 40+4 today! Not a niggle HmmDH wants to go into town - 20 minute drive, park and walk into town.
I've said I don't want to go. I'm pretty stuffed if anything suddenly happens - it's not the easiest place to navigate!

Morning Smile

I'm new to Mums Net - Hope you don't mind me gate crashing ..
I'm due 26th January with baby no.3 - so not quite overdue yet but am soooo done with being pregnant Confused ..
Have been in agony with pelvic pain for a few weeks now and have been stuck indoors - feel like I'm climbing the walls on top of insomnia every night for weeks .. Plus have had the stress of a growth scan predicting a huge baby that quite frankly scares the hell out of me trying to push her out Shock ..
The last week has just been a mixture of pain and meltdowns and really needed to talk, so joined here Thanks
Sorry for the rant x

Hi Sunflower - I am also due on 26th! I had to be induced with my first - it took forever - would love to avoid this again - have had more niggles with this baby (#2) but I really don't see myself going into labour anytime soon. No one in my immediate family has had a baby less than 40+10 and most induced like I was! I too am fed up with pregnancy, my hips hurt, I can't chase after my toddler... I was even just hurting walking round sainsburys - last pregnancy I tried a lot to get things moving but nothing worked.

Will you have a sweep? I had 3 last time did bugger all.

I don't know whether to decline one this time - my next appointment is not till 40+3 though so by time I go for my sweep it might have more impact?!

Second sweep booked for this afternoon - what's getting me is you're all talking about pain! I have absolutely nothing! I feel like this is never going to happen.

Hi sunflower -I'm due on 27th Smile with my 3rd too.

I feel your pain. DS is 17mo so I feel like I've been constantly pregnant for the recent past. I've had enough now!

blerg will that be your first reflexology session or have you been before? I went for 3 or 4 sessions the last time and I've no idea whether it helped the labour or not (I suspect not- long back to back labour) but I did go at 39+4. The therapist didn't believe in holding back though- my feet used to be in bits afterwards! Didn't go this time due to lack of time and spare money.

39+3 today.

(Did you notice I stayed on the thread even though I said I wouldn't Blush - sneaky!)

Hey Oneconfusedchick Thanks

Ahhh I feel your pain, I was induced with both my girl and boy, and the last time was over a period of 4 days Sad .. Absolutely dreading the thought of that happening again ..
I have suffered braxton hicks this time which is all new to me Shock and the feeling of her falling out as I walk is also not the nicest feeling .. I've just got back from a small shop at Tescos and I think I spent more time breathing through tightenings lol!

While I was at my consultant app. Last week (after growth scan) and they basically told me I have to wait the full 12 days before they will induce regardless of her size - she offered to try for a sweep ... So I said yes .. Cue another meltdown when she said your no where near ready Sad So all these pains etc. Have not been doing a thing! My midwife has offered another one at 41 weeks but to be honest I don't know whether to try or not .. Ignorance is sometimes bliss hey!
Previous sweeps did nothing for me either Confused ..
Thank you for replying. Thanks

Hi Maisiedotes Smile
.. Although I wouldn't wish the last two weeks of pregnancy on anyone .. It's nice to know I'm not alone Thanks Thank you for replying X

Hi ladies, I'm due 29th so not overdue but I am frustrated as hell and desperate to get this baby out haha so I thought I would join in. I keep desperately looking for any signs buy I think I am just clutching at straws (and googling anything that could be a sign haha)
I went on maternity leave early because I was struggling but really starting to feel guilty now and wished I had stuck it out longer as worried I will have to go back to work pretty soon after birth as a result which is why I am so desperate to get him out I think.
I get lower back pain like period pain on and off but thats all,I never get any in my tummy, I feel like I will be pregnant for ever and ever!

Haha sunflower my Google history looks like this:
"Headache early labour sign"
"Backache early labour sign"
"Slight sniffle early labour sign".....and so on!
Why do we drive ourselves crazy?
Yes this is my first, I'm having a little boy :) how about you?
I think it's cos it's like Christmas and your birthday and winning the lottery all rolled into one x

I think it's because it's a bit like your life is on hold and you can't really progress until you've had the baby- DH and I want to visit inlaws abroad in March but it's getting closer and closer and I don't know if I'll be able to get a passport/ visa for the baby in time. I also want to get back into shape (gained a mega 23kg) but i just cannot stop eating.

I am also a late night (and pretty much all the time) googler!! Think when you want baby out you will clutch at anything - I know I am! I agree about being a bit in limbo til the baby arrives. With this baby I went off at 37 weeks but with my first I went off at 30 weeks as I hated my job and the commute and it felt like forever I was off although actually was quite enjoyable - couldn't do it now though and wouldn't necessarily recommend as it was quite boring and I didn't achieve much in the time I had off!
