I'm currently 17 weeks with our first....is it bad that I'm already counting down how many weeks left at work until I start maternity leave to meet our bundle of joy?

Anybody else or just me?!

HD18 Sun 03-Jan-16 15:10:50

Definitely not just you. I'm 17 weeks too and am also counting down the days until maternity smile

GlamourBear Sun 03-Jan-16 15:36:29

Glad it's not just me, thought I was being super keen!

cautiousoptimist1 Sun 03-Jan-16 15:54:57

No it's not just you. I'm 17 weeks on Wednesday and also counting down to the end of May.

cautiousoptimist1 Sun 03-Jan-16 15:56:33

Ooh I should have added to come and join us on the due in June thread (sorry if you already have). We're a big friendly group.

Back to work tomorrow after finishing on 18th December. ....18 weeks until I finish for mat leave can not come quick enough! I'm 20 weeks on Tuesday

Frankie72 Sun 03-Jan-16 16:00:59

I've written a count down in my planner... 11 weeks and counting (12 if you count Feb half term)! Come on ladies we can do this!

Ohjellybelly Sun 03-Jan-16 16:10:55

Me too. Back to work tomorrow then 40 days until I start my 12 weeks leave. Baby is due 15th Feb, last day at work will be the 12th. This is baby number 5 though and I have a feeling that I won't make it all the way through January. I hope not anyway!

MyNameIsSuz Sun 03-Jan-16 16:15:07

Seven weeks to go for me! I do four days a week so it's 28 days. Have been counting down for ages!!! I'll only be 37 weeks when I finish which seems a bit ridiculous, but I think I'll need it this time.

frikadela01 Sun 03-Jan-16 16:29:06

Not quite counting down yet but I've lost any love I had for work recently and am basically waiting for each bit of annual leave before I go off in June.

RaisedByWolves Sun 03-Jan-16 16:29:24

I'm counting as well. 22 weeks. Going back to work tomorrow with a feeling of dread. Plan to take maternity leave 1 day of March. Can't Take the commuting and working full time whilst looking after my 2 other DCs.

You Are Not Alone!

Oddly, and as an aside, Work appear equally keen to be rid of me, now that they know i'm pregnant and of no future use to them.

Wharm14 Sun 03-Jan-16 16:33:37

Another one counting down, I'm 31 weeks and due 2nd March, hoping to work until 14th Feb but counting down the weeks till I can leave!

JustMeAndHim Sun 03-Jan-16 16:46:13

And me!! 20 weeks here. Counting down to the end of April smile

Mouthfulofquiz Sun 03-Jan-16 16:46:56

24 weeks here... And I'll probably go at 35 weeks. 4 days a week, so 44 lots of 5 hour shifts to go!

sepa Sun 03-Jan-16 17:36:24

I think I started the countdown early also. Leaving 25th Feb so just under 8 weeks for me!

Reebok Sun 03-Jan-16 19:40:30

Yep I'm counting down too. Have barely been at work since the sTart of this academic year (teacher) as been signed off with hyperemesis and then signed off with bleeding. 23 weeks! Leaving at 35 for Easter hols as won't be coming back. The commute is a nightmare for me and have another dd to look after so I need a rest. 10 weeks if I don't count half term!!!

MercuryRising Sun 03-Jan-16 20:33:33

Hi Im also counting down. Im 29 weeks and also a teacher. I am working up to Feb half term and then starting maternity leave on 22nd February, so 6 weeks or 30 days of work left. Im exhausted and not sure how Im going to get through the next 6 weeks but at least the end is in sight!!

JustMeAndHim Sun 03-Jan-16 20:38:29

How many weeks are you all taking off on ML before your DD? I was planning on going at 38 weeks but I'm so exhausted atm I'm not sure how I'm going to last that long!

sorry I should be able to work this out from what you have said but my brain has turned to fudge!

princesspineapple Sun 03-Jan-16 20:41:48

I have a feeling that me and my HR manager are the most disorganised people ever! I haven't even made a plan for going on maternity leave... And I'm 30 weeks on Wednesday! I'm guessing I'll work up to about 38 weeks(?)... So 8 weeks to go and I can't wait to be free!

GlamourBear Sun 03-Jan-16 20:45:03

Lots of countdowns going on then! I've also spaced out my annual leave quite nic and then given myself 3 weeks annual leave before starting maternity leave.

Hope everybody's last weeks go quickly grin

KnitsBakesAndReads Sun 03-Jan-16 22:34:18

Another one counting down. Don't yet have an exact date to finish work but probably early March. I really enjoy my job but it was starting to feel hard work even before Christmas - struggling to concentrate on what I'm doing and sitting in an office chair all day was giving me horrible back pain. Definitely looking forward to maternity leave now!

MrsBenWyatt Sun 03-Jan-16 22:50:39

6 weeks to go (also a teacher).

Oysterbabe Sun 03-Jan-16 22:53:03

Weeks? I was counting the days. I used a business days calculator I found online, subtracted my annual leave and counted down days left in the office. It was supposed to be my last week this week but my baby arrived on Thursday so I need to give them a call in the morning to tell them I ain't coming in!

delilabell Sun 03-Jan-16 23:23:08

Congratulations oyster!
I'm on the countdown. 22 weeks and want to get as close to the end if April as possible

applecatchers36 Sun 03-Jan-16 23:31:56

Also on the countdown, 25 weeks and thinking of leaving end of March
