Hello all :)
Just wanted a bit of advice really!
I'm 15 weeks pregnant and since the very beginning have been completely put off eating any kind of meat. The sight/smell everything about it just urgh.
Trouble is now i'm really bored of eating the same things and have started to miss the times where I would enjoy a nice juicy cheeseburger and that kind of thing. But I just don't know where to start, I feel like i'm too scared to try getting back into meat again incase I end up really sick
Do I just try to eat a tiny amount each day (maybe ham?) and hope that i'll get the urge to maybe one day eat a steak? lol
:(

I'm 12 weeks and off meat as well. Some days I can stomach chicken and certain fish, maybe try that first?

I went off meat in pregnancy too (and veg/salad which I really enjoyed before!) apart from bacon and sausages and lived on blt sandwiches for a while... it took months after I had ds to be able to eat them again and even now I don't eat steak! My only advice would be to make sure you get plenty of iron or take a supplement as I ended up severely anaemic at the end of my pregnancy and ended up having several transfusions after birth and to focus on the healthy things that don't make you sick...

I ended up eating a bit of cold trout fillet, crackers, cherry tomatoes, occasionally some marmite on the crackers. Couldn't eat anything else. Baby basically fine.

I've gone off chicken of all things! Although I feel I could still manage processed crap like chicken mcnuggets! I bought a big order from muscle foods early in pregnancy so my freezer is choc full of beautiful fresh meat to be cooked and enjoyed and it's just going to have to stay there!

It's just food. Which is fuel. Eat a certain amount & carry on.
I went lactose intolerant in my pregnancies which A) took ages to figure out & B) was jolly inconvenient. I even went off of chocolate in last pregnancy (gasp shock horror).

Pregnancy does all kind of weird things to your senses and gut. I went off meat too as it all just started to smell rotten to me even when it was fine.

I wouldn't even bother trying ham as it isn't going to add much nutritionally to your well being. Maybe up the beans and pulses type stuff or try cold fish dishes?

I've eaten loads of sushi and sashimi - from reputable restaurants where fish has been frozen

Why are you so determined to eat meat if it is making you feel ill?

Just eat a vegetarian option for goodness sake!

I just don't understand why eating meat is so important to you.

I go off meat too when I'm pregnant (36 weeks with 2nd). I just don't eat much of it...

I try and compensate protein-wise with nuts and eggs. But honestly I just roll with it.

If I'm wanting meat but not fancying it - home made egg fried rice with shredded chicken normally goes down ok.
