Brown spotting for 4 days (4w2d) hoping for happy ending stories or realistic stories?

Hi

I had a mc in Aug at 4w6d started with a gush of brown spotting and cramping on 4w4d followed by nothing for 2 days until mc on 4w6d. Roll forward to now. I started spotting a small amount of brown 4 days ago, most times I wipe there is a small amount of brown on the loo paper. Cramping too quite a bit. Discharge has gone slightly thicker now. Sorry tmi here but almost gone a little lumpy. Went to the dr yesterday who feels it may be another mc as timescales and timings are similar. Although I, thinking the symptoms are slightly different.

Hoping to hear from ladies who have had this and what the outcome had been?

Thanks in advance.

I had that around then. Was just old blood though left over from the implantation of twins!

Hope it's all ok for you this time xx

Me too. I'm 7.5 weeks with twins too and I had brown spotting from week 4-7 pretty much. I also had a bright red bleed which lasted about 12 hours but scan showed no reason for it and all ok. Obviously I don't have an outcome yet to speak of, but it does show that spotting is very common. I also had it in my last pregnancy in the first trimester. Some people just spot I think. Hope this is the case for you!

Had this with both pregnancies and now have two healthy dc! I have also had a mc so I understand how worrying it is.

Yes I had about a week of brown sludgy spotting from 10dpo. It's implantation bleeding. I think you only need to worry if it's bright red fresh blood and/or painful.

Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy Thanks

I would ring EPU and try to get a scan as soon as it would be possible to see something. That's what I did.

I'm nearly 30 weeks pregnant and this time I had brown spotting for four weeks, from 4-8 weeks.

It was thought to be old blood from implantation.

Epu scanned me at 6 and 8 weeks, all fine.

Good luck I hope all is well.

I had it too for around a week at the same time with both of mine - implantation bleeding again I suspect as they are both squishing me in bed at the minute. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

So sorry you are having this stress Vap0, I had three weeks of early bleeding in both of my pregnancies, got a healthy baby from the first and so far so good with the second. My fingers are crossed for you.

Thanks all, it is comforting to hear happy ending stories.

My dr has been great, I know there isn't much they can do yet, I'm having another blood test on Monday and if I don't start bleeding before Friday she is going to book me in for an early scan the week after. It's all very early still at 4w6d and they can't scan until 6w. It's good to hear that quite a few people have had this spotting/discharge and still had healthy pregnancies. Today is a particularly anxious day as last time we made it to 4+6 before proper mc started. Just fingers crossed for the next week or 2 until i can have a scan.

I also has brown spotting for a week from 4w6d. It turned bright red a couple of times too. It is so scary and it is literally all you think about till it stops, but remember in the early stages of pregnancy the embryo is still implanting so it's likely that's all it is. I would say try not to worry but having been there and done it, I know that's impossible.

Oh and that 4w6d embryo is now a 21 month old little boy sitting on the sofa with me watching The Chase :)

I had brown spotting for a good few days round about the 7 week mark. Was very tender and crampy too. We were away for dh's birthday and I told him not to get his hopes up.

Well, the spotting stopped and that baby is now 7 year old ds who is moaning that he doesn't want a bath because of the footy.

I then had even more spotting with DD.

I really hope all works out for you.

Are u absolutely sure Vap0? I ask because I had a bright red bleed which lasted 12 hours at 5 weeks. It was like a period. I called ePU and told them I was miscarrying. I was absolutely sure about this. They asked Me to go in for a scan anyway- which showed no sign of a miscarriage and twins. I'm not suggesting you're having twins, but are you sure that it's what you think it is?

I've had this recently went to EPU for blood test. Went back two days later and my levels had doubled. All going well and have stopped bleeding. I hope you have a good outcome x

It's definitely over
There has been a lot of blood and clots
I've had a mc before and this is exactly the same
Pregnancy test tomorrow will tell more of a story as the line fades
You are lucky having scans even after you think you've had a mc. God knows what you need to do in my area to have a scan. They won't even let me speak with epu as I'm not 6w yet.

Really? Can't you just ring ePU directly yourself? That's what I did. Sod going through the gp!

@Blakerose15 I've been bleeding brown for the past 4 days, not s huge amount though, enough to put a layer on a pantyliner (sorry tmi) I've been to an out of hours GP and called my midwife who both said it's common and not to worry unless it's red and there's a lit (enough to soak a thick pad and more) and agonising cramps, I have mild cramps which I've been told this is normal. Hope this helps?
