pleasant pregnancy symptoms :-)

I am now 8.5 months pregnant with my 2nd and I don't think I will have anymore - I am enjoying the final few weeks despite getting bigger all the way and am thinking that this will be the last time I will ever be pregnant.....so I was thinking about the good things about it:

big cleavage!
non-greasy hair and only have to wash it every 5 days instead of every 2nd
good complexion - no need for foundation
hardly need to shave my legs (much lighter growth)

I think this does balance out the leg cramps, heartburn, tiredness etc....

Does anyone else feel like this?

my nails got tons longer and harder, I kept accidentally stabbing people with them

gorgeous nails! So much longer than ususal, and white too. I looked like I had had a french manicure.

And that 'glow' that everyone goes opn about. I felt hot and knackered, but so many people told m how glowing I was, I must have been.

I am jealous of all of you. My hair is falling out like crazy, my nails crack and break constantly, and my eczema is so bad that my hands are cracked and bleeding.

I had the glossiest almost black, thick hair when pregnant -my hairdresser used to rave about it.

(Trouble was about 6 months after having DD and DS it dropped out by the handful and lightened in colour )

Not really a symptom but. . . .not having to worry about if you look right! You look like a pregnant woman and you don't have to worry about holding your tummy in either!

I have to say that other than overwhelming tiredness, I didn't have any other symptoms of pregnancy throughout my first pregnancy (other than a tummy that got bigger and bigger) and I lost about a stone in weight!

I am now pregnant again, and if I hadn't done a test I wouldn't know, as I feel perfectly normal. I reguarly thank god that I didn't get/don't have the dreaded "morning sickness"!!

MKG don't know how pg you are, but if it's of any reassurance I didn't experience ANY of the blooming or physical benefits till at least 6 months pg. Felt (and probably looked) utterly shit up till then

I'm 4 months now, and this is exactly like my last pregnancy was the whole time.

Although one benefit of pregnancy is that when you have gas, people are more forgiving.

yes I had to keep showing my DP the pregnancy books which listed wind as an official symptom - he struggled hard to quash his disapproval, bless him...

Thick hair.

Also the sciatica which plagues me the rest of the time clears up completely when pregnant

Those dreams (ahem) . They were the only real perk (other than the lovely baby) as far as I can see...
Don't worry if you havn't had the good nails yet. Mine were rubbish all through pregnancy (as was my skin) but went all gorgeous from when DD was about 2 months old until last week. T'was wonderful while it lasted.

Oh yes, I remember how great it was to have lustrous head hair - and almost no leg hair! Also great skin - the lines seemed to disappear. And I felt so body confident - no worrying about a flabby tum.

Sadly I am now in postnatal hag hell.

The parts i miss the most is putting my hand on my tummy and feeling baby kick, people moving out of my way without me having to ask when shopping, no periods and that envious look that all women gave me when they looked at my baby bump (although at the time none of these seemed that important i miss them all now my babies on the outside!)

i missed my bump terribly, and a few times in the days after birth thought "the baby hasnt moved for ages.." then thought oh yeah i had the baby!

Sleeping much better than normal, don't know how long that will last though - I'm only 16 weeks so far! I can remember finding it hard to get comfortable last time round after 6 months or so. Generally feeling calm and unstressed, and enjoying making Christmas cakes and puddings and generally being all domestic (when I get the time, that is).
