Baby brain

Baby brain is really kicking in this last week and I'm not quite 14 weeks yet! The last few days I've put the milk in the cereal cupboard and the cereal in the fridge twice. Making my daughters sandwiches for school I put her half eaten sandwiches from yesterday back in her lunch bag. Thankfully I realised but I did feel very guilty. Could have sent her to school with that. Also I ordered a food delivery for Friday evening. Only to realise that I have actually ordered it for Saturday evening when I'm not in so I've had to pay a much higher delivery charge to get a Saturday am delivery. Feeling very silly right now. Anyone else had any silly baby brain moments?

I've left the car unlocked in a car park with no ticket on it.

Today I boiled some pasta and went to drain it in a colander forgetting to hold it over the sink and I just sort of done it in mid air over the cooker, I felt really stupid after that

Tried to put deodrant on my toothbrush, instead of toothpaste.

Went for a wee, put the used tissue to one side and tried to flush the bog roll.

Ran a bath, always put hot water in first then cold. Turned off the hot tap, then for some reason put it back on instead of the cold tap. When five mins later put my hand into the bath to gauge the temp.... well it was hot, lets leave it at that.

I've been fine otherwise - just when I go into the bathroom I lose my marbles Confused.

Couldn't remember the word for corner, had to say "the bit where the walls meet". Forgot my own name, on more than one occasion!

Been doing this a lot. Why does it happen?

I haven't noticed baby brain but I have always had stupid moments so not sure I would actually notice either way Grin

Love letters, if you believe science then it doesn't happen! Which I'm astounded at (I'm a big one for research) they either tested the wrong people or have them the wrong test!

It could be due to tiredness rather than something going on? Which is why it continues after DC is born

I keep forgetting where I'm meant to be going and driving the wrong way, very annoying!

I have this so bad! Forgetting words, forgetting what I am saying mid-sentence. Thinking I have done things that I haven't. Mis-remembering dates. I refuse to believe that baby brain is not a real thing!

I asked my OH where his "night trousers" were - I couldn't remember the word pyjamas haha!

I also couldn't remember my mums address the other day even though I lived there for about 7 years with her. I didn't like to ask so had to wait 2 days to fill out my form until I finally remembered it.

I think it's tiredness induced - post DD1 I was talking to some friends (thankfully all new mums in the same boat) and I had to say Chimney Shelf - simply could not recall mantelpiece!

Although DH and I still use chimney shelf as I quite liked it as an alternative.

I am loving night trousers mellow!

I turned up in the US at a conference with my colleague last week only to find I'd booked the hotel for the following week Blush Fortunately they found us rooms! I poured boiling water from the kettle into my pan of curry rather than the rice earlier this week, too. 17+1 - it's going to get worse, isn't it?!

I caught the train to London from near Portsmouth last weekend with a friend to meet another friend and the three of us were going to London Fashion Weekend. 10 mins away from Victoria station, I realised I'd left all our tickets in the cupboard in my living room!!!!!! :o

Luckily one of the security guards' wife was due in a couple of weeks, so sorted us out :)

I asked the electrician if he needed to borrow an umbrella to install a pendant light. I meant a ladder.

This morning I thought I had missed my birthday altogether (it's Wednesday) and was about to send a happy birthday text to someone who's birthday falls after mine.

I keep nearly leaving the house in my slippers. So far I've managed to stop myself by the time I get to the car.

And I keep putting my knickers on inside out and not noticing until several toilet trips later in the day. Classy.
