What food makes you happy at the moment?

I am 10+3 and feel a constant nagging nausea. Despite this my brain keeps telling me that eating will make me feel better. I seem to spend ages every day looking in the fridge and cupboards for something to take my fancy and often end up with marmite on toast or scrambled eggs on toast.

When I do find something I REALLY fancy, I get quite excited Grin. At the moment I love granola with chopped banana and Greek yogurt. This is quite good for me as in previous pregnancies I had a hankering for hot sausage rolls!

What everyone else is enjoying at the moment? I am hoping it might give me some inspiration?

Oooh bacon and eggs for me... Really good quality smoked bacon, and some eggs from our local farm. Heaven.

Pierogi Ruskie (potato, cheese and onion dumplimgs) that have been boiled and then fried in butter so they're crispy.
I could eat them everyday if I'm honest but they're not the healthiest thing in the world!

I have a sweet tooth at the moment, but I am 39 weeks so may just be gathering energy! I'm eating a packet of Refreshers a day (well, have to share them with my partner). They taste like my childhood (may also be in a very soppy mood the closer I get to my due date). Wanted spicy food throughout - I think it's why it's not working in terms of starting off labour!

Cheddar cheese is my friend as is ice cream with hundreds and thousands. Buy me these and I will probably love you for the whole time it takes me to eat them! Grin

ohh! Dont get me started on this!

I feel like eating multiple things at the same time. I had pretty poor eating habits before I got preg (skipping meals due to busy schedule - having "something" to just keep going). Pregnancy corrected the prob for me.

I ate 1 portion of thai yellow curry for lunch today. I thought it was a bit too oily and felt slightly nauseous. After 30 mins, I got myself a falafel wrap. A massive wrap with salad etc. I was already full by then, but my stomach and mouth didnt agree with each other. I ATE ALL OF IT !!

I feel like a anaconda snake after swallowing a buffalo. I am struggling to shift this stuff!

Meat. Considering I am normally a vegetarian, this is a bit annoying, but gotta listen to what my body wants, I guess.

Jaffacakes, porridge with honey, blueberries and mixed seeds, bacon and eggs, anything cheesy, anything from Wagamammas, crisps, fruit smoothies, daal and nan bread, roast dinners- my appetite has gone off the scale!

So much nice food!

MrsGently not long to go! Good luck with everything and enjoy your Refreshers!

Notfrom I had to google those, they look good Smile

Jasmine that made me laugh (sorry) but that is exactly like me. I ate a fish finger sandwich yesterday because I thought it was what I fancied. Turns out it wasn't really even though I ate it all. I then had to go and find some cheese and biscuits and something sweet because I felt let down by my lunch. I then felt like a barrel for the rest of the day and decided that I must have a light tea to make up for my lunchtime excess. By the time DP comes in from work though I am starving again!

Seriously, how am I supposed to not put on weight in the first trimester? Confused

Decaf Pumpkin Spice latte from Starbucks literally made my day :D

Went to Wagamamas at the weekend and had their coconut seafood broth. I've been really struggling with finding foods that tastes nice. It was so lovely I started crying in the middle of it Confused

10 + 4 here and I've been doing exactly the same. Eating because I'm convinced I'll find something that makes me feel better but it doesn't, so I'll eat something else. Then I'm too full and feel sick anyway...

Ooh Junosmum I like those as well, also the chocolate flavour! I might have to get some as a little sweet treat Grin

Icantthink sorry you have felt so awful. I do think I am lucky that at least I haven't actually been sick despite feeling generally crappy. It must be so hard to not be able to eat anything and must be a relief when you do find something you can stomach even if it is prawn crackers.

I wish I craved fruit Toffee. I couldn't think about it for a while but it is slowly creeping back into my diet. Well, I say slowly, I did nearly eat a whole punnet of grapes yesterday Blush

Oh wow Spacefrog that must have been really good. If lots of people read this thread they will end up with queues of pregnant ladies desperate for something tasty. I have never been to Wagamamas but I feel like I should give it a try.

Hi Twllbach. We are so close! Smile. Isn't frustrating! I just feel like I am eating for the sake of it but I cant seem to stop. I am sure my bottom has doubled in size already

I had a really good tea tonight (roasted veg in tomato and basil sauce with pasta and lots of Parmesan) and there was enough left for lunch tomorrow. I cant believe I am looking forward to it already! Blush

I pretty much live on potato at the moment. Also cheese. Preferably potato and cheese together!

Cheeeeese, lovely lovely cheese! It was the only think that stopped the nausea between 11 and 16 weeks, I used to carry them little snack packs or babybel around with me constantly. Even now the nausea has gone I still look forward to cheese on toast for my daily treat!

I'm swinging between extreme nausea and hunger. It's awful. Need to eat, feel sick, need to eat, feel sick.

I had potato waffles, cheese and coleslaw yesterday at 9.50am. It was bliss.

Soft mints have kept nausea at bay a bit.

21 weeks here; I've been craving fruit since the start, which I don't normally eat that much of. Also toast, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, yogurt, milk - mostly relatively bland carby things. I went off food for a while, anything that smelled too strong really turned my stomach. Feel a bit like I'm getting back to normal now!
