Hi, been reading all your helpful messgaes, so thought I would ask for your help too.
Had my last period on 24OCT, then 2 weeks later breast felling really tender and tired, then I had a heavy one day of bleeding on the 20NOV and nothing after that day. I was due to start period 26/27NOV and havent.
I did a test (I couldnt wait) on 24NOV which was neg and I was gutted. Then i did another one last nite (27nov) and it was neg
I feel diffrent but have no major telltale symptoms apart from being tired. Both tests i took were very late in the day, and I havent been eating evey much recently cus been busy with work...so I dont know whether my hormones are strong enough or whether I am not pregnant.
Any advice would be greatly welcome, plus what you think I should do next. I dont want to keep disappointing myslef with several tests.
Thanks

The first pg signs I had were painful breasts.

If you haven't been eating much recently I guess this could be a factor in your odd period rather than the hormones not been strong enough to show up on the test.

Pg tests can be positive when they say negative, however I believe this isn't that common.

Maybe try doing another test - I think the moening is the better time to take them and if it still shows up negative and you still feel out of sorts then book to see your GP.

Which test are you doing? As you are so close to your period date maybe you should try First Response (I'm sure they're all as good as each other though)

you can get false negatives///not a false positive..so it might be :

you tested too early

you need to test in the first wee of the day when the concentration of hormones is highest

no-one can tell you if you are pregnant...being tired and not eating well, being run down and worried, might make you late

do a test in the morning, it is the only way to find out for sure..sorry...x

Ok Hi I'm new here, not an expert but thought I'd add my input.
In my 1st month of ttc, my period was uncharacteristically delayed by almost 2 weeks. I did what must have been 6 pregnancy tests, all were negative. my periods are usually very regular. thought something really strange was going on, thought I started to feel some nausea and was really tired. I kept reading about how you can get false negative PG tests but it was getting all a little worrying so I went to my GP who wasnt at all concerned. she told me that psychology had a huge part to play in your menstrual cycle and that she'd only be worried if I had skipped two or three periods and was still getting negatives!

after a rollercoaster two weeks I finally got af which was a relief as I'd been through the whole range of emotions from disappointment to excitement through to disapointment again.
When I did the PG test the next month, I'd had no PG symptoms and was convinced it would be negative again but there was a faint line and it was definitely different from all the negatives I'd had before. Now I'm 16weeks Pregnant. and when my pregnancy nausea/vomiting did come on, it was nothing like any previous nausea I'd had (and unfort hasn't left yet)

I say give it a few more days before testing again...if still negative then your probably not pregnant. It doesn't matter that much what time of day you do them as most pregnancy tests these days pick up very small amounts of HCG, though morning is preferable. and you may or may not get early symptoms.

Hope all works out.

Hi
Thanks for all the responses.
I was due on 26/27 nov so 3/4 days late. I am normally regular, I used first response. With my tests being negative I would just assume Im not pregnant, but its just the one day full bleed I had on the 20th that has made me think this isnt normal. If i still dont get my period by Sunday I will take another test.
I was just worried incase I was and i dont know it....for things like taking folic acid etc....
Fingers crossed.

(re folic acid, they recommend you take it before you conceive as well as after, so start now anyway!)
