I am in absolutely agony with this heartburn/acid it's making me sick and I'm literally crying with the pain in my throat and chest when it's sitting there. I've tried peppermint, I've tried rennie, I've literally drank gaviscon out the bottle, cold water, hot drinks, ice poles, they help for about 10 mins then it's back. I want to go to bed but can't let down cod it makes it worse and I have to jump up out of bed before im sick or can't breath properly. What can I do?!
I don't know what's causing it (apart from the pressure of the baby, I'm 28 + 3) Can milk cause it?
I'm not having any spicy/citrus food.
Please can someone give me a remedy?? Thank you Sad

God I remember this phase, I had it so bad I was sick a lot too. For a while I just couldn't sleep laying down I'm afraid and tried to make myself as comfy as possible in a chair ???? not so bad at home on the sofa but I had to sleep on a hotel desk chair once as we were away and I just couldn't lay down at all!

MummyPiggy87 · 03/09/2015 23:12

Oh gosh :-/
At least I'm not the only one suffering which weirdly and selfishly make me feel better haha. I'm chomping on an ice pole now, meh.

Funnily enough icy cold milk is the only thing that stops it for me. You could try something like those milky ice cream pops, what are they called... I'll remember in a minute! .... Mini milks?

ARV1981 · 04/09/2015 00:03

Just been sick Sad. I'm sick with heartburn almost every night.

I'm taking ranitidine. Doesn't seem to make any fucking difference.

I guzzle gaviscon. No fucking difference.

I cut out spices. Citrus. Tomatoes. Chocolate. Onions. Fruit. No fucking difference.

Thinking of not eating at all until this parasite is born. I think it hates me. Poor thing. It hates its mummy before it's even born. I think I'm having stewie from family guy...*

I am being induced in ten days. It can't come soon enough.

*I don't actually mean this. I'm really looking forward to being a mummy. I'm just sick of being sick!

Lj8893 · 04/09/2015 00:08

Oh I remember it well. The only thing that worked for me was these indigestion tablets that came in little yellow tubes in a yellow box. I'm sorry I can't remember the name but I bought them in saimsburys.

noiwontstoptalking · 04/09/2015 00:15

I had terrible heartburn when pregnant with my twins. The only thing that help that didn't make me throw up was shop bought milkshakes. Really cold from the fridge.

noiwontstoptalking · 04/09/2015 00:16

Not Macdonalds obviously you aren't allowed those as pregnant.

MummyPiggy87 · 04/09/2015 00:45

ARV hahaha you really have cheered me up!! I'm still up!! The acid is burning through my actual flesh now I think!!
Mm mini milks! I need them now.

gp prescribed omeprazole, worked wonders. Go and see them.

pinkmanbitch · 04/09/2015 01:06

whaaaaaat! Shock

Lovethebubbles · 04/09/2015 02:10

Go to your GP. I was prescribed a tablet I took once a day and my terrible heartburn disappeared. It was such a relief.

Emus · 04/09/2015 02:23

I was prescribed the same as Whatabout and it was bloody AMAZING. It's a one-a-day tablet and I've never loved a tablet more than that one! Don't put yourself through this, get to the GP Smile.

poocatcherchampion · 04/09/2015 06:10

Mine is really helped by lying on my left side. Sometimes I'm sick if I go to the loo but then better if I lie down asap again

contractor6 · 04/09/2015 09:00

I've been having milk and worked up until this week, mw said to get tablets from doctors....but no appointments for 8 days!! At 38 weeks there's a chance I could gave had it by then. Sil has recommended zantac as targets the source.

Lj8893 · 04/09/2015 09:02

I ate loads of McDonald's as pregnant, it's still early so I'm not sure if that was a joke or not Confused

Junosmum · 04/09/2015 09:06

You can get omeprazole on prescription. Maybe try that?

You can so drink MacDonalds milkshake whilst pregnant!

MummyPiggy87 · 04/09/2015 09:29

I have a gp appointment today at 11 so will beg him for some tablets, thank you all. ????

You can eat McDonald's when pregnant Hmm

And the milkshakes. And the McFlurries.

nothing like a bit of scaremongering right there.

Bippidee · 04/09/2015 09:38

Second ranitidine or omeprazole.
You can buy ranitidine OTC as Zantac, or Ranicalm (half the price of Zantac).

Lj8893 · 04/09/2015 09:39

I honestly thought the McDonalds thing was a joke, if I wasent then what a ridiculous thing to say!!

And now I really want a McDonald's. I'm not pregnant so it's ok!

bigchangesabound · 04/09/2015 10:55

Try eating little and often- might help put some of that acid to use. I've started getting bad heartburn and find it eases after I eat something. Another thing that was recommended to me was to get those tubes of yoghurt (frubes???) and freeze them- will ease the pain as it goes down your throat- worth a try maybe?

ARV1981 · 04/09/2015 18:47

All I can eat is ready salted crisps.

Had three bags for dinner.

Healthy!
