My husband wants to go away a month before dc2 is born. We don't have any family close by the nearest people are my parents who are 2 and a half hours away who we are hoping will be able to get to us before baby arrives so they can look after dd. AIBU in not wanting him to leave me on my own with 4 weeks before the baby is due?

How long for? If it's for a month, that's bonkers but if for a few days, it should be fine.

It's for 3 or 4 nights. A friend of a friend had her baby at 35 weeks just recently so I think that's scared me a little Confused

DP's work wanted him in Saudi weeks before our second is due. I said no way!! Few hours down the motorway is fine, another country not so. How far away will he be?

It's Sweden. Not a million miles away, but still far enough that he can't just jump in the car ans race home if needed.

Could your parents come and stay with you while he is away?

Did you go early or overdue with DC1 ? i know its not a very trustworthy indicator, but if you were overdue, you could maybe let him go (especially if you can get your parents to stay?)

Don't think you're being unreasonable. Can't recall if it was a month or two weeks before the due date, but I remember calling a moratorium on travel before DS arrived.
