Hi all,

After some advice... Bit anxious as woke up and knickers are soaked through and the sheet and mattress! Smells like there is urine in it but it's not urine if you know what I mean, knickers are drenched as if Ive been swimming! Help! Is this normal? I'm 31 + 3

Keep your knickers (honestly, the midwife will check them) and call the labour ward. It might be something, it might not be but you need to be checked.

Hi guys,

Thanks for caring - all is ok, not waters, just discharge. They found out I have a urinary infection and also they are worried there may be too much fluid around the baby so I'm in tomorrow for scan - bit worried what too much fluid means as it didn't sound good when midwife was talking!

I have excessive fluid around my baby too and I am 30+4. I have had to have a glucose test to check for gestational diabetes, two blood tests, urine sample, extra scan and see a consultant. The baby is slightly over average in size and has developeed fine. The midwife keeps saying that they have to monitor and elimate everything to ensure that everything is ok. Bit worried. If you find out more than me then please let me know. xxx

The good news is that the fluid amount is fine and I just have strong stomach muscles and a baby that is hard to locate. Everything seems fine, I'm glad I had the scan but I realise that doesn't help you mums!
