Pregnancy

waking up with severe back pain

In my last pregnancy I had mild SPD. I'm only 18 weeks but when I wake in the morning the bottom of my back is in absolute agony . It takes me about 1 minutes to move my way out of bed and when I'm up in have stretch and move about to get rid of the pain . By about an hour later it's fine.

I've tried sleeping with a pillow under my hips , between my legs, on either side but I just can't stop it from happening . I'm trying to get an appointment with physio but they're busy . Does anyone have any tips until I can get one ?

I don't know about this specifically, but I know that when not pg, I can avoid lower back pain by lying on my back with a rolled up towel under my knees - this takes the strain off the lower back a bit. Hope you get to see a physio soon.
