Pulmonary embolisms and 12 weeks pregnant

I've just come out of hospital after being diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolisms. I knew it was a risk but am just so shocked that it has happened as although I had GD and preeclampsia I never had a clot. Has anyone else experienced this. Think I'm just looking for a bit of support. DH is great but he doesn't really understand what I'm going through and I just thought it would be nice to hear others experiences etc.

So sorry that this is happening to you. I had a PE a few years ago (not while pg though), and it was very scary! But you are being taken care of and closely monitored, so try not to worry too much (easier said than done, I know).
You will be on anticoagulants for the rest of your pregnancy (and maybe afterwards as well for a while), but the heparin is no problem for the baby. It depends on your case, but you might still be able to have a normal birth. How are you feeling? Look after yourself xx
