Hi All

Am 27 weeks, an have a sticky out bump, not skinny, about 14-16...and have put on 8lbs. BUT am in quite a lot of pain daily by the mid afternoon, around the sides and under my ribs, and all over my mid back, like stitches, cramps etc. So i think i might be needing a support band. I have a birth ball but this just makes the muscles cramp harder. Sitting here near tears.

Any suggestions?

Already prescribed paracetamol and codeine..they do not touch the pain and signed off for a week as unable to sleep due to to the pain :(

I walked about 4 miles without a twinge, the moment i sit.. BAM. ugh!

You need to go to pregnancy physio . It was around that mark I started to get sore in my last pregnancy . They gave me a large tubagrip to wear over my bump and it works wonders . I felt it work instantly the pain and strain on my tummy lessened as soon as the physio put it on me .

I'm 13 weeks with my third and can already feel it coming on again Sad hope you get it sorted op it really is painful Sad

Seeing one on Monday, i had been referred at 15 weeks but to a normal physic, who was not that helpful!

Fingers crossed! i have the tube grip from a private one but it makes my reflux soon bad :(

Oh no really that's a shame about true tubagrip . Do you feel like you need something to take the weight of the front of your bump ? That's how I felt . But saying that the majority of my pain was in my pelvic area and hips . I walked weird for about 5 months Blush

Hi, hope you have some better luck with physio,. If not look into some oesteopathy trwatment with someone experienced with pregnancy, it made a big difference for me. Also if the tubagrip doesn't work fir you look into supporting bump with a strechy or woven wrap, if you have a local sling libary or babywearing consultant they should be able to help.
