Excited to despair

I've be absolutely desperate to conceive and have been trying for almost a year. I'm due on my period today (30th July) and tested on tues to find a v faint line! I'm am/was so so happy, I then tested with a clear blue and got a faint cross and then clear blue digital and got a 1-2 pregnant - all of these were in the afternoon.

I tested again on Wednesday morning 1st thing again to get the same faint cross and same digital result. I then test this morning with a tesco test and the line was v faint and didn't another clear blue and got a even fainter cross than before.

I obvs did the wrong thing as I googled and read that hcg levels my be dropping v hence the faintness so I may end up miscarrying.

I already have a daughter and when I tested around the same time as I am now the line was really dark.

Anyone advice?

I've had feint lines, I think it can depend on the strength of the test, the concentration of your urine etc. Also if you're earlier than you think (ie you ovulated or implanted later) it may be more feint.

Unfortunately all you can do is wait another few days and test again. Fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations!
My advice would be to stop testing. I don't think the darkness if the line has any relevance to whether the pregnancy will miscarry and will only add to anxiety. You have missed a period, you have a positive test, it is now just a matter of waiting. Book an early scan around 7 weeks if you want some reassurance that things are OK at that point x

I did a test which was my first BFP. Then 3 days later did another and the line was lighter. I was convinced that was it, but I'm now 20+2 so I don't think it's any indication of viability.

You got a line, that's all you need. Congratulations.

I did a test a few days before I was due. I did about 5 from there on in for about a week. line was always faint, I never got a dark line.
Im now nearly 34 weeks with twins so Im not convinced the darkness of the line matters all that much! Congrats and try not to overthink it Smile

Can be influenced by time of day, how much drunk, not testing mid pee etc

Truth is, it could be a chemical pregnancy, but you won't know until it happens. You may miscarry in a few weeks, you won't know until it happens. As you know early pregnancy is a scary ass time - I was constantly checking for blood, every moistness 'down there' would send me running to the bathroom. And then I accepted that worrying about wouldn't stop the worst from happening and I started to enjoy the first few weeks. Yes I was still anxious but no where near as much.

I wish you the healthiest of pregnancies, but please, please stop peeing on sticks.

Congratulations x stop testing - you are pregnant - 1 is enough. Try to stop worrying x

I was exactly the same, I became obsessed with it. I took about 6 of the dippy tests which all came out different strengths. The clear blue said 1-2 and that was good enough in the end. I'm now 24 weeks. You are pregnant it's just hard to believe when you want it so much x

A line is a line. Stop testing, there is nothing you can do now anyway.

Congratulations Smile

You are pregnant, congratulations!! Stop testing. I know a bit about these kits through my job, lines will get darker anyway over time so if you are comparing the tests directly older ones will probably be darker. You will have higher concentrations of hcg in your urine in the morning, so darker line first thing. The tests are not designed to quantify exact concentrations in the way you are using them. Stop worrying!

Your post could also read "we have been trying to conceive for a year and I have done seven pregnancy tests this week and they were all positive!!" Smile Smile Smile

I'm keeping everything crossed for you, period like pains are also a symptom of early pregnancy (personal experience!!)

I had period type pains too, it's usually normal. Those conception indicators are just that, indicators, and they are notoriously unreliable. Plus they are from conception, e.g. the date you ovulated, not how far along you actually are.

Ignore the digi one for a start. In my first pg I never got beyond 2-3 weeks (now a happy, healthy 2yo), I'm now 14 weeks with my second and never got beyond 2-3 either. The digis are novelty products and not diagnostic tests.

As pps have said, you are pregnant. Congratulations.

LS I had really bad 'period pains' early in this pregnancy, didn't test until I was a week overdue and realised that they weren't period pains at all... Congratulations and good luck Smile
